Three of his four victories have come here and he's back on the same mark as when scoring over 1m4f in May. Will have to do better than last month's near 9L defeat over that trip now dropping distance.
Off the track since June, both successes have come at this track, including over this trip. Trainer has been quiet lately but filly is capable of going well fresh and merits market check.
Losing sequence goes back to 2014 and not stands at 22, best effort this year came here in June over 1m½f off mark of 59. Has been toiling lately on turf and potentially up against it for now.
Has largely struggled over the summer and was beaten 8½L over 1m4f on AW at Dundalk this month on stable debut. 21-race maiden and must take a step forward over this shorter trip.
Has 16 wins and a further 32 placed efforts so far in 156-race career, effort at Beverley last month over 1m2f would put him in the shake-up, though hasn't been as good in four runs since (Engaged at Redcar on Friday).
Mark justifiably continues to tumble but posted a better effort last time at Chelmsford (1m2f) nine days ago with blinkers back on. Took keen to last home but, dropped another 3lb, isn't dismissed with headgear retained.
Returned from 250-day layoff when tailing off over 1m at Ayr (heavy) recently, drops another 5lb for return to AW racing and gets first-time blinkers added but has major work to do on formbook.
Showed some moderate promise when tackling mile for the first time at Newcastle in May. Still must improve on first starts for 155 days to play leading role here however and others make more appeal at the moment.
A 12-race maiden, he has struggled in three starts since switching to this yard including when going down best part of 10L over this C&D in August. Back down in trip and sports a new visor.
Filly went close in a weak maiden over 1m4f here in April and produced best effort since at Chelmsford (1m2f) nine day ago when 1L second of 14. Raised 2lb for her troubles, but can get involved with similar run.
Both career wins have come on turf, failed to see things out on debut for yard at Newcastle (1m4½f) on AW last time. Final start for Christian Williams was a decent one here over 1m½f and, now rated 5lb lower with hood on, could mount big effort.
Went close in a maiden around here over extended-mile in December, form has nose-dived since however and hard to be confident having been well beaten off over 7f at the track a fortnight ago.
Sole success in 32 attempts came over 1m2f at Redcar in April in a fillies' handicap, very poor since including tailed off effort over 1m4½f at Newcastle 11 days ago. Down in trip but positives aren't obvious.
Forecasts
Arrowzone (11/4), Multiviz (7/2), Haldaw (9/2), Filament Of Gold (15/2), Molten Lava (10/1), Pensax Lady (14/1), Outlaw Torn (14/1), Kerry Icon (16/1), Huddersfilly Town (16/1), Cockney Boy (25/1), Daleelak (25/1), Sooqaan (50/1), May Mist (66/1)
A tester for punters to end the night, with plenty having questions to answer. Haldaw has course form, albeit from a weak maiden, and the filly produced an improved showing at Chelmsford recently to be runner-up, making her an interesting contender here. Filament Of Gold does his best work at this track and is on his previous winning mark if able to bounce back to form while returning Pensax Lady also bears a market check at a track she likes. Arrowzone was too keen on debut for this yard last time but is attractively weighted now down in trip however the same applies to MOLTEN LAVA. He didn't get home at Newcastle on first start for Philip Kirby but is rated 5lb lower than when running a sound race here in August over 1m½f. With new headgear potentially boosting his claim, he's worth a shot in the finale.
- Molten Lava
- Haldaw
- Arrowzone
