Successful from a 2lb higher mark at Wincanton in January (2m soft), but a bit of a hit and miss performer overall. Returned to the fold from a six month break at Fontwell recently and should be sharper today.
All three career successes have come at this track, but never beyond 2m2½f, and with rail movements included this contest is over almost 2m6f. However, on the plus side his current mark isn't overly prohibitive.
Relative newcomer to the stable (formerly with Oliver Sherwood). However, he hasn't been in great shape overall for some considerable time now, plummeting 23lb in the weights since January 2016.
Stayed on for pressure to take a Fakenham maiden hurdle (2m good) by a head in June, and has kicked about between codes without further promise since. Back over hurdles at Fontwell latest, but needs plenty more.
Most progressive during October in 2015, winning four on the bounce (mainly over hurdles) on decent ground. Hit hard by the handicapper eventually and has taken time to fall back down the weights. No show at Southwell (2m4f+) latest.
Once an 18 race maiden, but his form figures since joining this trainer read 1,1,2. Set a tough task from an 11lb higher mark at Huntingdon latest, but almost up to the challenge, beaten a neck by Cosmic Diamond (2m3½f good). Up another 3lb.
A ten race hurdles and AW maiden, who has probably appeared sharpest on the Flat. That said, little to enthuse over generally and difficult to fancy.

Forecasts
Paddys Runner (2/1), Shrubland (9/4), Bowie (11/2), McKenzie's Friend (8/1), Cry Wolf (12/1), Gannicus (14/1), Love The Leader (14/1), Crookstown (14/1), Green Zone (16/1)
The handicapper is still struggling to keep tabs on SHRUBLAND since the switch to Dan Skelton, and this four-year-old produced a clear career best when just unable to down Cosmic Diamond at Huntingdon earlier in the month. He wasn't at all fazed by the longer trip and on his seemingly preferred decent ground didn't go under without a protracted battle. His mark has risen again (3lb) and he is up in trip marginally once more, but he rates as the most obvious selection in a race where few can be fancied. The likeliest danger is the C&D winner Crookstown. He should be competitive at his favoured venue off a mark of 110, judged upon his 3L second to Chic Theatre in December 2016 (from a 4lb higher mark).
