Beaten a head and ½L when third to Lina's Star over 6f here on his penultimate start. Gave the impression on that occasion that an extra furlong wouldn't go amiss, but largely unconvincing overall.
Unraced colt by Harbour Watch out of Mylington. Cost just 1,800 gns as a yearling, and wouldn't appeal as a likely debut scorer.
Made late progress after a slow start on debut at Kempton (7f) earlier this month when finishing seventh of 13 to Lady Of Aran. Improvement likely and carries the silks of local owner John Dance.
Dutch Art colt who has raced over 6f on turf in both starts so far (Catterick and Goodwood). His pedigree suggests he'll be better over this trip, and he's a half-brother to Newcastle AW winner Vintage Folly. AW bow.
Stablemate of Dutch Academy. €20,000 yearling who finished 7L second to the Godolphin owned Al Hajar (4/11f) on debut at Redcar last month (7f good to soft).
Has managed to beat just the sole rival home in two starts so far, and lacked the pace to get involved when upped to 7f at Chelmsford latest.
Filled the rear-division positions on both starts so far at Catterick and Pontefract. Upped in trip for her first attempt on synthetics.
Had the misfortune to clash with Teppal on debut at Kempton last month (7f), but outran her 66/1 odds in finishing a staying on 5½L third. Produced a similar effort behind another fair rival (Expressiy) at Chelmsford latest, so holds strong claims.
Swiss Spirit filly who finished 10¾L fifth of seven to House Edge (66/1) on debut at Musselburgh earlier this month (1m1f soft). Much more needed now switched to synthetics and dropped in trip.
Unraced filly by Cityscape out of Miss Apricot. Seventh foal who is a half-sister to five winners including Apricot Sky, Fruit Salad and Charlcot. One to note in the market, partnered by a rider who excels at this track.
Forecasts
Line House (2/1), Mametz Wood (3/1), Another Day Of Sun (6/1), Brisk Tempo (13/2), Dutch Academy (7/1), Sienna Dream (12/1), Strawberryandcream (25/1), Blyton Lass (66/1), Amity Island (66/1), Baileys Rockstar (66/1)
Robyn Brisland sends a strong party North to Newcastle tonight, but the pick of his runners on the card is LINE HOUSE. This daughter of Kheleyf (out of Wood Fairy) has performed well on both of her recent AW starts, and faces nothing of the calibre of either Teppal or Expressiy in a relatively weak Novice Auction Stakes. If running to the same level of form that she's shown previously at Kempton and Chelmsford, she'll take all of the beating.
- Line House
- Brisk Tempo
- Strawberryandcream
