7f winner at this track in June, beating Weellan (levels) by a neck. However, whilst that implies the placings should be reversed on today's terms, their most recent C&D clash isn't quite as conclusive.

Made the most of an ease in the weights and a switch to the AW when opening his account in a decisive manner over 7f here last week, beating Admiral Spice by 3¾L. Up in trip under a 6lb penalty.

Forecasts

Emerald Rocket (6/5), Weellan (3/1), Kit Marlowe (7/2), Homerton (5/1)

Verdict

Just the four runners, but a very tricky puzzle to solve with tactics likely to play a significant part in the end result. The width of a cigarette paper appears to separate KIT MARLOWE and Weellan, but assuming PJ McDonald can get the pace spot on from the front end, the Mark Johnston trained runner can be expected to be tough to reel in. Homerton has one standout piece of form which suggests he's on a very tempting mark, whilst Emerald Rocket looked a totally different proposition on the AW to turf when winning decisively over 7f here last week.
