Verdict

A couple of horses to keep an eye on for the future in this contest, most notably the £200,000 purchase Cesar Collonges. However, in terms of today, the horse which makes by far the most appeal is the Rose Dobbin trained SLANELOUGH. He was a mere snip at just £45,000 by comparison, and whilst yet to get off the mark over hurdles, his most recent effort at Kelso when splitting Blue Hussar and Mayo Star looks rock-solid with the winner tasting success on the Flat in a Class 4 2m handicap at York over the summer. Perhaps Bal De Rio is the most likely danger. He was out of his depth at Kelso recently when facing the exciting pair Beyond The Clouds and Some Reign (a stablemate of the selection) and he shouldn't be judged over harshly on that showing accordingly.
  1. Slanelough
  2. Bal De Rio
