Finally forced his head in front after some consistent efforts when upped to 3m at Clonmel late last month, beating Sir Abbot by a comfortable 2¾L. Up 4lb, but likely to go close from the front once more.

As De Piquep,t255
Age: 12|  Weight: 11-11| J: G N Fox| T: G P Cromwell| OR:  124| C
20/1
Came to life late in his career, winning five races over fences (including over C&D), but not successful now for over 12 months. Off since February and likely to need this race.

Static Jackp,t18
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-10| J: B Browne(5)| T: Miss Ellmarie Holden| OR:  123| BF
12/1
His recent form figures aren't the most inspiring, and he was a beaten favourite over 3m1f at Gowran Park last month (fifth of seven to Deputy's Pass).
4
Horse silk
Vinnie Luckp20
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-8| J: Brian Hayes| T: M Winters| OR:  121

Figured in the placings with regularity over hurdles and fences in recent starts, and was a 5½L runner up to Icantsay when last over the larger obstacles at Listowel (3m heavy). Now 2lb higher.
5
Horse silk
Voices Of Springh21
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-5| J: Donagh Meyler| T: A J Martin| OR:  118
12/1
Sightly stronger in his first try in a handicap over fences at Sligo last month (2m1½f heavy), but didn't scream certain future winner, and his stamina could be found wanting over this trip in any case.
6
Horse silk
Chief Of Panama25
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-3| J: D J Mullins| T: L P Cusack| OR:  116| C
20/1
Narrow winner over 2m4f here in June (beat Samanntom by ¾L), but not the most reliable since then (including over hurdles). Should stay this trip but others preferred.
7
Horse silk
Mister First123
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-3| J: A E Lynch| T: R Hennessy| OR:  116
33/1
Historically, much stronger over fences than over hurdles (a five time career winner). However, kept over the smaller obstacles for a while now since contesting a Cross Country Chase here in February (3m).

Horse silk
Some Dramap,t21
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-3| J: D J Hand(7)| T: D A McLoughlin| OR:  116
7/1
Survived a bad mistake at the last to take a four runner 2m5f chase on deep ground at Sligo last month, beating Bilko by 4¼L. Up 4lb, and this is stronger, but merits consideration.
9
Horse silk
Clontarfp,t163
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-2| J: A W Short(7)| T: D A McLoughlin| OR:  115
16/1
Not built upon a promising to start over fences. A winner on chasing debut (beginners) at Fairyhouse in January (2m5f soft), he was pulled up on his handicap debut in May at Roscommon and he needs to return fresh and improved to be involved.
10
Horse silk
Routes Choice21
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-1| J: L P Dempsey| T: J P Dempsey| OR:  114
8/1
Off the mark at the sixth attempt over fences at Sligo (3m½f heavy) last month, and hit with an 8lb rise in the weights. More needed, and ideally best suited by further rain (not forecast).

Horse silk
William Du Berlais23
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: D J McInerney(7)| T: E Bolger| OR:  113| BF
6/1
On the premises throughout the summer months over fences, but his mark is steadily on the rise. 8lb higher than when successful at Downpatrick in late August (2m3f yielding), and a mark just a 1lb higher proved too much at Roscommon latest.
12
Horse silk
Bosman Rulep8
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-13| J: Paul Townend| T: W P Mullins| OR:  112
16/1
Versatile in terms of trip over hurdles, but not progressing over fences as one might have expected. Pulled up on handicap debut at Galway last month, and needs to brush up on his jumping if to take any sizeable steps forward.
13
Horse silk
Cloudy Morningv20
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-13| J: B J Foley(5)| T: M Kennedy| OR:  112
33/1
Outclassed, but not disgraced in beginners chases last term, but well beaten by A Sizing Network on handicap debut (fifth of seven) at Clonmel last month and shouldn't be capable of reversing those placings.
14
Horse silk
Back Off Mate40
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-12| J: Rachael Blackmore| T: A L T Moore| OR:  111
25/1
His last success over fences came in a 2m1f Ballinrobe handicap chase in August 2014, when rated 113. Lightly raced over the past couple of years, and did okay at Kilbeggan last month on his seasonal return (sixth), but not for today.
15
Horse silk
First To Boogie159
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-10| J: Mark Walsh| T: Madeleine Tylicki| OR:  109| C
11/1
Kept stronger company over hurdles in the latter half of last season after progressing early in the campaign. However, ended the season out of form and never on terms over fences at Kilbeggan in May (2m4f yielding). Fences handicap debut.

Horse silk
Oscar Lantern10
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-10| J: Phillip Enright| T: C Byrnes| OR:  109| D

Departed early in the contest on his seasonal return at Limerick ten days ago (2m6f soft), and this six race chasing maiden steps back into handicap company today.

Horse silk
Rolling Revengeh,t70
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-10| J: R Loughran| T: M Brassil| OR:  109| C
20/1
A winner over hurdles on this card in 2016 (2m4f handicap), he was switched to fences the following month at Naas when finishing 3½L third to Attribution. He was off for a while thereafter, but has returned in fair order and has outside claims.

Spancil Hill32
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-8| J: M A Enright| T: M J McDonagh| OR:  107

Won just once in 20 career starts, but that was over fences at Wexford (3m1f+) in April. Hammered by the handicapper for that success, and finished a couple of places behind Vinnie Luck when fourth to Icantsay at Listowel last month.

Patsio20
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-2| J: Sean Flanagan| T: J R Barry| OR:  101
16/1
A 12 race maiden over the larger obstacles, but close up when fifth to Billy De Kid at Clonmel last month (2m2f yielding). Stamina a question.

Forecasts

A Sizing Network (11/4), William Du Berlais (6/1), Some Drama (7/1), Routes Choice (8/1), First To Boogie (11/1), Static Jack (12/1), Voices Of Spring (12/1), Vinnie Luck (16/1), Patsio (16/1), Clontarf (16/1), Spancil Hill (16/1), Bosman Rule (16/1), Rolling Revenge (20/1), Chief Of Panama (20/1), As De Pique (20/1), Back Off Mate (25/1), Cloudy Morning (33/1), Oscar Lantern (33/1), Mister First (33/1)

Verdict

Rolling Revenge was a winner over hurdles on this card in 2016, and not being fully exposed over fences could prove one of the likelier contenders at bigger prices, so merits a small each way play. Of those that have shown more recent form such as William Du Berlais, Some Drama and Routes Choice, the handicapper appears to be swiftly rearranging his cards to their detriment. Therefore, the also rising A SIZING NETWORK can probably consider himself fortunate to have been given just a 4lb rise for last month's comfortable Clonmel success, and he looks capable of following up for Mrs John Harrington, Ann and Alan Potts and the excellent Robbie Power.
