Last of 12 over 6f on latest start at this track, but had previously finished a creditable third at Brighton after a win at Chepstow. Looks to have plenty to do off the same mark as last time.
Both her wins have come at this track, over 7f and 1m. Given plenty to do when second over C&D last time, but showed she was in good heart and has plenty going for her off the same mark.
Last win came way back in June, 2014, and two runs for current yard have been over further than this. Down 2lb since last outing and shrewd stable reaches for blinkers for the first time. Worth a market check.
Still a maiden after 12 outings and four starts for this stable have not been too productive. Handicap mark continues to fall and positive jockey booking offers hope.
Three quiet runs in maidens before finishing down the field in a Chelmsford handicap. She made some late headway over 6f that day, suggesting this trip might be more suitable. Worth a look off 3lb lower.
Winner of seven races, but it is a long time since the last of them. Not disgraced when fourth on latest start over C&D and is down 2lb which gives him an each-way squeak.
Lost second to Magic Mirror close home over C&D last time and reopposes on 2lb better terms. Not guaranteed to back that up given his previous efforts, but is a serious player if he does.
Irish import who has been struggling recently, but did show a little more at Redcar last time. He is now 3lb lower than when last successful which clearly gives him a chance if able to find his best form.
Winner of nine races who is approaching the veteran stage. Usually reserves his best for Brighton and has been running well there, but has winning form at this track and is not badly handicapped.
Out of the frame on all five starts, the last two in handicap company. Hopes seem to be pinned on the effectiveness of first-time cheekpieces.
Still looking for his first win after 18 starts and little encouragement to be gleaned from latest efforts. Off career-low mark on return to the AW.
Only win in 17 starts came in July, last year, but he has not run been running badly recently and was a fair third of 11 at Chelmsford off 2lb higher two starts ago. Has each-way claims.
Has failed to hit the frame in 10 starts, but has not been beaten too far on several occasions, including when seventh over 5f at this track last time. Quite interesting back up in trip in first-time cheekpieces with leading rider booked.
Competes in a handicap for the first time after three quiet runs in maiden company. Failed to beat a rival at Chelmsford last time and has to take a big step forward.
Forecasts
Magic Mirror (5/2), Kafeel (4/1), Whaleweigh Station (15/2), Twistsandturns (10/1), Lutine Charlie (10/1), Latest Quest (10/1), Black Truffle (12/1), Rapid Rise (16/1), Mellow (16/1), Tifl (20/1), Cherry Leyf (33/1), Rising Sunshine (40/1), Angelical Eve (50/1), Danica Ashton (66/1)
An interesting handicap in which a couple of experienced campaigners take on some much less exposed types. It would be a surprise if one of the latter were not to prevail and the suggestion is CHERRY LEYF, who has hinted at ability on more than one occasion and steps up in trip in first-time cheekpieces under a leading rider. Latest Quest and Mellow are others to note, while Magic Mirror and Whaleweigh Station are closley matched on recent C&D form and can make their presence felt.
- Cherry Leyf
- Magic Mirror
- Mellow
