Useful dual-purpose horse, not won for a while but likes it here and often goes well in this race (winner 2013, second two years ago). Likely to have been primed for another attempt and well enough handicapped to make an impression if fit.
Stays really well and drying ground will help, on a good mark on best of his 2016 form but it's not really happened this season for him as yet. Handles the track though, and if refinding some form, can;t be ruled out.
Last win came over hurdles (around this time last year) and has been running with some consistency this summer. Does seem to find winning hard, however, and handicapper slow to release his grip, so others preferred for win purposes.
Far from disgraced in the Cesarewitch trial last time out and takes a drop in grade here, placed three times at the track too, so has that going for him, but drying ground not really ideal. Each way chances again, but that goes for plenty of these.
Has ability but often finishes off weakly, and as a result win rate isn't what it perhaps could be. Yard going very well, but perhaps this trip stretches him on the Flat and on that, others look more likely.
Has danced plenty of the big dances in top class handicap hurdles in his time, often performing with great credit. Often travels well in his races and looks on a fair mark, although it's possible that slightly shorter would suit him better.
Only 4 and lightly raced, may have a bit more improvement to come and looked to be on the way back to form based on latest staying-on third at Kempton. Cheekpieces on then are retained, and another step forward would see him go close.
Better known as an all-weather performer, but has form on turf and although wins tend to come at shorter, he does stay this trip. Yard do well here, but lack of headgear today for this one probably not a positive.
Has a win at the track to his name, but as many disappointing efforts as good ones. Stays and pops up from time to time, but wins tend to come in lesser company than today's, and he may be out of his comfort zone here.
Well treated on the best of his hurdles form, such as his close fourth in the IMperial Cup this year, but doesn't quite seem the same horse on the level and although there's a C&D win to his name, others preferred.
Low-grade stayer, tends to do most of his running on the sand these days but does have turf form, and drying ground a help, but ultimately others are classier and he might find this a touch too difficult.

Top weight HARRY HUNT Denmead is another that enjoys the idiosyncrasies of this venue and might prove the biggest danger. Song Light might be using this as a stepping stone to another hurdles campaign, but he's a smooth traveller that might reward e/w support.
