Has some very solid form at this trip from lower grades this season, although has gone somewhat off the boil in his last two starts. Heavy going could have been an excuse and is not ruled out from this mark back on better ground.
Has improved with each run and finally got off the mark over 7f (good to soft) at Newmarket last time. Up 6lb for that, but could improve again for this extra furlong and has to enter calculations.
Heavy ground debut scorer at Nottingham (6f) in August who bettered that in the same conditions when a nose second at Carlisle (7f) last month. Not able to repeat that last time at Chester and will need improvement to win from this mark.
2lb better off with Aewsometank for a ½L beating at Newmarket last time, giving hope that this soft ground Redcar winner might be able to turn the tables. Improving and handles good or slower ground. Claims.
Coming on with each run and got his nose in front at Beverley (7½f, soft) last time out in novices' company. Initial mark looks to be a reasonable one for this nursery debut and could go very well.
Has so far been at her best with cut in the ground, so any rain would be a positive. Has stepped up well to this trip on her last two starts, scoring at Pontefract (heavy) last time. 8lb higher now but still improving and is short-listed.
0-9 and not ideal coming into a race against improvers without a win and on the slide in the weights to boot. Her best efforts from the spring look to be behind her for the time being and she will need to raise her game today.
Chasing a hat-trick after putting up similar efforts to win at Chelmsford (1m, AW) and Kempton (7f, AW) on his last two starts. Up 4lb, in grade and back on turf, others make more appeal.
Six-race maiden whose best effort to date was when runner-up over this trip (good to soft) at Thirsk in July. Not been able to go on from there over 7f/7½f since then. Pedigree suggests he should see this out, but needs to prove it.
Forecasts
Awesometank (3/1), Dark Liberty (9/2), Buckstopper Kit (6/1), Shazzab (13/2), Veejay (7/1), Book of Dreams (8/1), Sunbreak (8/1), Lady Anjorica (14/1), Reinbeau Prince (20/1)
DARK LIBERTY arrives here in decent form and with a 2lb pull she might just be able to topple Awesometank this time. Buckstopper Kit is one to note in the market on his nursery debut, while stablemate Shazzab also has claims. Veejay may have been stuck in the mud on his last two starts and on his return to better ground he should not be dismissed.
- Dark Liberty
- Awesometank
- Shazzab
