C&D winner on debut in May (good to soft) beating Red Force One by 1L, and far from disgraced on his sole other visit to York in August (sixth). Not so good latest and stable also saddles International Man and Guzman.
Has kept strong company (Group 3 and a Conditions Stakes) since winning decisively at Pontefract (6f soft) in August. Nursery debut.
Unbeaten in two starts since stepped up to 6f, and showed further improvement to take a class 2 nursery at Chester (6f heavy) by ¾L late last month. Up 4lb.
Most consistent, winning 3 of her 6 career starts and developing a symmetrical form pattern (3,1,3,1,3,1). Versatile in terms of trip and ground, and has won at this track in the past (5f). Up 4lb for her latest Yarmouth success.
Unbeaten in two starts since being gelded, but those victories have come in lesser events at Carlisle and Catterick. Nursery debut, but no problems anticipated with trip or ground.
C&D winner on debut in June (6f good to firm), but hasn't really progressed since and was well beaten in a valuable sales race at Doncaster last month. Stable saddles three runners.
Backed out of things quickly since winning at Newbury in July (6f soft), and his trainer now reaches for the first time cheek-pieces. Difficult to fancy, but most likely at his best if able to get loose off the front end.
Beat Rumshak by ½L on his third start at Thirsk in July (5f good to soft), but has been beaten on both subsequent starts (at York). Not certain he really stays 6f.
On the up having won two of his last three starts (Beverley and Bath), but tries an extra furlong now for the first time since a low key debut in June, and has a 7lb rise in the weights to contend with as well.
Finished third behind Canford's Joy on his second start at Carlisle in June (6f good to soft), but stepped forward to win comprehensively from the front under similar conditions at Catterick latest. This is tougher; nursery debut.
Slow learner who doesn't help himself at the start, but ran his best race yet when a ½L runner up to Jonboy at Pontefract last month (5f good to soft). Stable produced a similar sort (Big Les) to win at Pontefract on Monday.
A winner in a lower grade at Ripon in June (6f good to soft), but back from a break gelded and finished 2¼L third to today's rival Ginbar at Chester last month (6f heavy). Races from a 1lb lower mark.
Successful on his first two starts, clinging on for a dead-heat with Benadalid over 6f at Newcastle in June. Highly tried since then, and held, albeit towards the fore at Doncaster on his penultimate start (fourth). Stable saddles three runners.
5f Beverley winner on debut (good to firm), but has largely been campaigned in lesser contests than this race without further success. Runner up at Carlisle last month (6f heavy), but comfortably held and needs further improvement.
On the premises on his last two starts at Beverley and Redcar, but both of those races came over 5f and weren't anywhere near as competitive as this nursery. Handicap debut.
Beaten under 2L by International Man in a C&D maiden in June (good to firm), but below that level of form in both subsequent starts. Dropped 3lb for only his second start in a nursery, but that isn't enough to convince.
Left previous trainer Richard Fahey for £8,000 after winning a Beverley claimer in May, and placed in a couple of starts at York since, including in the Rous Selling Stakes in June (6f). Not so sharp latterly and easing in the weights.
Forecasts
Roundhay Park (5/1), Ginbar (6/1), Tulip Fever (7/1), Guzman (11/1), Beatbox Rhythm (12/1), Kyllachy Dragon (12/1), Captain Jameson (12/1), Zap (12/1), Havana Star (14/1), International Man (14/1), Black Friday (16/1), Alkhalifa (20/1), Savalas (20/1), Collingham Park (20/1), Canford's Joy (25/1), Astraea (50/1), Our Little Pony (66/1)
An ultra competitive nursery to kick off the card where those with recent winning form look the likeliest players. Ginbar is on the up, and arrives seeking a hat-trick, but it should be noted that his latest success came in very deep conditions at Chester, and this is a sterner test. Zap is one of three runners for Richard Fahey, and this C&D winner (good to soft) should be capable of playing a hand at a track he seems well suited to, whilst the likes of Tulip Forever and Roundhay Park (up in trip/grade) also come into the race with winning form. However, in a open contest, BEATBOX RHYTHM is the selection. He has been very highly tried since bolting up in soft ground at Pontefract in early August, and will surely appreciate the drop into a nursery for the first time after clashing with the most exciting Shabaaby in a Doncaster Conditions Stakes last month.
