Verdict

Another case of paying your money and taking your chance in a devilishly difficult sprint. However, at York and elsewhere, you'll have a better chance than not with Paul Midgely on your side. Both Tylery Wonder and Monsieur Joe are C&D regulars who command the utmost respect. They filled the first two places at Naas last month, and the former has already accounted for today's rivals Fumbo Jumbo and Bashiba when a decisive 4L scorer in July. Of the others, you need to be brave putting up Rasheeq for the win purposes, but there's no denying that he's a solid (non-winning) performer at this level, whilst stablemate East Street Revue is also worthy of inspection. In an open race VENTUROUS is narrowly preferred. He was beaten 1¼L by Show Palace at Ripon last month, but less testing conditions and revised weights are a leveller, and he should prove capable of further paying back the £44,000 that he cost connections in November 2016 (ex Charlie Appleby), by making the frame at the very least today.
  1. Venturous
  2. East Street Revue
  3. Monsieur Joe
