Lightly-raced Nayef gelding who showed improved form when winning C&D maiden by ½ length from Cape To Cuba last time, and enters handicaps on a fair mark, so needs shortlisting with further progress likely.
Capable of fairly useful form for Richard Hannon, but not been at his best for a while, including for current yard. Blinkers added to hood now, and while he's becoming well handicapped, he has obvious risks attached.
Dual course winner in 2016, including over C&D, and lower in the weights for either of those wins after a fruitless campaign. Claims if refinding old form, but didn't take much interest last time, and opposable again,.
Form figures uninspiring, and not an easy ride, but he's been shaping better than the result of late, being given too much to do on last two starts, and not a huge surprise to see him figure prominently.
Has shown his best form on tapeta at Newcastle, winning over this trip in January and over 7f on most recent start. Should be effective here, and one to consider off 3lb higher mark, his claiming rider offsetting that rise.
Running fairly well without reward this season, and far from disgraced when 2¾ lengths third of 11 to Timeless Art over C&D last time. Should run his race again, although needs to raise his game to score.
In fine fettle earlier in the year, bringing up 4-timer when scoring at Leicester in July. Form has fallen off since, though, and never in the hunt at Newbury on latest outing.
Off the mark in Haydock maiden in July, and better form when runner-up behind a subsequent scorer over this trip at Newmarket following month. Can go well if building on that, although has a tricky wide draw to overcome.
Won twice at Haydock in the spring, but has found life harder in handicaps since. Has now slipped back to last winning mark, but needs to show more if he's to take advantage of handicapper's generosity.
Won over 7f here and at Wolverhampton in early months of the year, and easy to excuse latest effort dropped back to an inadequate trip. Unproven over 1m, but worth a try at this trip, and not a forlorn hope.
Has looked quirky, and blinkered when off the mark at Beverley in the summer for Andrew Balding. No impact for new yard, and easy enough to look elsewhere at present,
Not disgraced when fourth of 6 at Windsor in July, but lesser efforts all starts since, including over hurdles. Blinkers tried now, but he's not one to be interested in.
Forecasts
Ahlan Bil Zain (9/2), Azaly (5/1), Rock Warbler (11/2), Archie (6/1), Psychotic (15/2), Eltezam (10/1), Presumido (12/1), Pursuing Steed (14/1), Sidewinder (16/1), Murdanova (20/1), Ogbourne Downs (25/1), War Of Succession (66/1)
Psychotic doesn't look overburdened on handicap debut, especially in light of his scope for improvement, and this C&D maiden winner can score again. Rock Warbler was better than ever when winning at Newcastle last time, and could be the main danger, although Archie is also worthy of consideration having caught the eye more than once in recent weeks.
- Psychotic
- Rock Warbler
- Archie
