Has proved herself as a solid performer at this track over the past few weeks, but has a penalty to carry for her 2¾L C&D success latest, and that looks a challenge in a slightly stronger contest.
Sir Percy filly (25,000 gns yearling) who looked in need of the experience when fifth of nine on debut to Magic Lily at Newmarket last month (1m good). This stiff mile should suit, but likely to be even better over further in time.
Havana Gold filly who finished third of eight to Fake News at Carlisle in late August (6f good to soft), but needs to prove her stamina tonight over an extra two furlongs.
Unraced filly by Mastercraftsman out of Time Ahead who cost 25,000 gns as a yearling. Eighth foal who is a half-sister to 1m3½f winner World Time. Worth a glance in the market for any signs of confidence.
Unraced Canford Cliffs filly who cost £20,000 as a yearling. First foal out of 6f AW placed juvenile Moss Top.
Runner up on her last two starts on turf, and those efforts are of a similar standard if judged via her Beverley conqueror Apple Anni. Tries this longer trip of 1m on her AW debut (should stay).
Finished back in the pack (fourth) on debut when 6¾L behind Champarisi over C&D last month, so needs to improve markedly in order to reverse those placings, and debatable in any case as to whether or not that will be enough.
Unraced filly by Canford Cliffs out of Ardent Lady. Ninth foal who cost €12,500 earlier this year and is a half-sister to six winners including course specialist Rashford's Double. First runner at this track for this Irish based trainer.
Rip Van Winkle filly who cost a mere 2,000 gns as a yearling. Slowly away and never competitive when fourth of eight on debut at Chepstow in August (1m good), and needs to build upon that effort in order to play a hand.
Delegator filly who cost only £800 as a yearling. Finished mid-division on debut at Thirsk last month (7f soft), and shouldn't really be strong enough based upon that admittedly limited evidence.
Forecasts
Consolida (5/2), Vera Drake (11/4), Champarisi (11/4), Havana Mariposa (8/1), Sassie (12/1), Broken Wings (25/1), She's Royal (25/1), Cheeky Kiki (25/1), Time To Perfection (50/1), Santa Anna (50/1)
Champarisi has the C&D experience, but also a penalty to carry for her recent success in a relatively moderate maiden auction stakes. Vera Drake switches to the AW for the first time after a couple of consistent efforts on turf, and she should stay this longer trip in a race which lacks any real depth, whilst Irish raider Santa Anna looks an interesting newcomer, being a half-sister to Newcastle AW specialist Rashford's Double. However, CONSOLIDA doesn't have to improve all that much from her Newmarket debut in order to score at the second time of asking. By Sir Percy, she should relish this stiff mile (and much more) and is fully capable of providing Cumani and Spencer with a quickfire double.
- Consolida
- Santa Anna
- Vera Drake
