Runner up in a Hexham bumper in June (beaten 15L), and that's the pick of his four efforts in that sphere. Faces a very challenging assignment on Flat debut.
A fair sort in bumpers, winning twice in five starts (Worcester and Ayr), and has done okay since switched to hurdles, finishing runner up in a Perth maiden in July (2m4f good). Flat debut.
A six race maiden, but has made the frame more often than not, including when runner up in a class 5 handicap over this trip at Salisbury in July (good to firm). In deep enough against Torcello and Ply (1m2f) latest.
Unraced fifth foal by Intense Focus out of Beautiful Dancer. Cost €9,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to three winners, but starts off against some potentially useful opponents.
Hasn't shown masses of obvious ability in three starts thus far, but this 62,000 gns foal by Sea The Stars looks a potential improver now gelded and stepped up in trip. AW debut.
Dutch Art gelding who cost 280,000 gns as a yearling. Has shown promise on both starts to date (AW), but the concern is that he steps up beyond 1m2f for the first time, and he's not really bred to stay.
Unraced filly by Haafhd (second foal) out of a 2m hurdle winner (Markila), who was a half-sister to 2012 Northumberland Plate winner Ile de Re.
Twice raced filly by Galileo out of Bewitched who cost 360,000 gns as a yearling. She was beaten by a pair of subsequent winners on debut at Salisbury in June (1m2f good to firm) and has run to a similar level since. Major player.
Nathaniel filly who left Hugo Palmer after just four starts, and has done okay on both starts on synthetics in handicaps since joining this trainer. Her most recent effort came over 1m6f at Chelmsford (second to Macksville), but 1m4f here is ideal.
Forecasts
Mahabba (2/1), Magellan (10/3), Balashakh (4/1), Nurse Nightingale (6/1), Loud And Clear (8/1), Military Parade (8/1), Darksideoftarnside (80/1), Disturb (100/1), Maggie The Third M (100/1)
A reasonable maiden to open the card, with a few of the leading stables seeking to notch that all important first victory for their expensively acquired charges. Military Parade is AW proven, but the major worry for him is tonight's trip of 1m4f, and on that score alone is opposed. Nurse Nightingale has done better in handicaps since joining Michael Bell, but now steps back into a maiden, but at least we know that she stays. Magellan should do better now gelded and upped in trip, but it is the 360,000 gns Galileo yearling, MAHABBA who boasts the strongest form on offer. She's back from a short break, but this extra two furlongs promises to suit her down to the ground, and she rates as a most confident selection with Jamie Spencer aboard.
