Carries a 6lb penalty for turning over a hotpot here over C&D eight days ago. Still going strong despite 96 races and jockey eases the burden. Another bold bid likely.
Unplaced in five races this season and well beaten last time out when last of six beaten 24L at Hamilton. Steps back to 5f but can't fancy in current form.
Not won in 10 starts this season but back to last winning mark now. No obvious excuse for below par effort at Redcar latest (18th of 19). Couple of placed efforts before that suggested win may be imminent.
Handicapper took a dim view of Thirsk win upping him 15lbs. Pound lighter today and not disgraced last twice but suggest still too high to play a major part.
Notably unlucky when ½L third over C&D last week, hanging badly after rider lost rein. Change of jockey here not surprising and obviously a big player off same mark.
4L seventh to Lady Joanna Vassa here over C&D last week and on that form it is tough to see him reversing with the unlucky Dawoodi who finished 3½L ahead of him.
Seems better on AW these days where he scored a month ago. Not won on turf since July 2015 and looked a difficult ride on several occasions. Won off this mark before but turf form hard to overlook.
Off the mark at the 16th attempt in penultimate start after disqualified from first previously. 5L fifth last time off new mark (same today) suggested will benefit from return to 5f but not the easiest of rides.
4lb better off with Dawoodi who he was 5½L ninth to two starts back. May have got bogged down at Carlisle on heavy ground last time out but still hard to envisage a reversal with that younger rival.
2L third to Economic Crisis from a stone out of the handicap latest her best effort in some time. Weighted to reverse with huge pull here although still a maiden. Can't be ruled out if in same form.
2L behind Dawoodi when sixth to Lady Joanna Vassa over C&D last week. No obvious reason for reversal and this maiden runs from out of the handicap.
Forecasts
Economic Crisis (11/2), Our Place In Loule (6/1), Dawoodi (6/1), Pavers Pride (6/1), Luv U Always (7/1), Compton River (8/1), Groundworker (8/1), Star Cracker (12/1), Lady Molly (16/1), Reckless Serenade (18/1), Knockamany Bends (25/1)
DAWOODI was clearly unlucky last time out and this three-year old appears to be thriving of late. He sets a high standard off the same mark and will be tough to beat here. Despite a penalty Economic Crisis can't be dismissed after turning over a well handicapped favourite over C&D last time and on that piece of form Luv U Always is also capable of a big run despite remaining a maiden.
- Dawoodi
- Economic Crisis
- Luv U Always
