Winner of four of his 14 hurdle races, he now switches his attention to chasing. Trainer-jockey combination always to be respected and this one looks a likely sort for this discipline.

Aqua Dude197
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-4| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams| OR:  135| D

Won twice over hurdles, but is 0-6 over fences. That said, he has posted a couple of fine efforts over the bigger obstacles and his experience will stand him in good stead.

Gray Day168

Successful in two of his five starts over hurdles last season and connections have wasted little time in switching his attentions to chasing. Any market support should be noted.

Unappealing form figures in a variety of disciplines. Needs first-time blinkers to have a dramatic effect if he is to land a blow.

Qualandop172

Landed the Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in 2015, but has not won since. Three previous attempts at chasing have been only fair and more is needed.

Solstice Starp,t171
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-4| J: Killian Moore(3)| T: M Keighley| OR:  132| D
13/2
Talented hurdler who has been kept to that discipline in recent outings after three ordinary efforts over fences. Tries again over the bigger obstacles and it will be interesting to see how he fares.

Has failed to hit the frame in a bumper and three hurdles races. Can only be watched on his first start over the bigger obstacles.

Templeross232

6/5
Dual hurdle winner who ran particularly well to be second in the Lanzarote Handicap Hurdle at Kempton in January. Looks a likely type for fences and stable is in great form, so has to enter the equation.

Three hurdles wins last season including two in handicaps. As a four-year-old filly she gets all the allowances, so she has to be of serious interest given her useful level of form.

Forecasts

Templeross (6/5), Aqua Dude (5/1), Allee Bleue (11/2), Solstice Star (13/2), Deauville Crystal (8/1), Above Board (12/1), Qualando (14/1), Gray Day (22/1), Speronimo (100/1), King Golan (200/1)

Verdict

In receipt of so much weight, Deauville Crystal is greatly respected, but there are some other talented rivals in a good contest. Gray Day and Allee Bleue catch the eye on their chasing debuts, but the same can be said about TEMPLEROSS, who looks just the sort for fences and represents a yard which could hardly be in better form. The experienced Aqua Dude and talented hurdler Solstice Star are others to consider.
  1. Templeross
  2. Allee Bleue
  3. Deauville Crystal
