His chasing career looks to have been shelved for now after a couple of modest starts as he reverts to hurdles. Given the interest or the lack of it he's shown in those starts it's hard to know what to expect now; mark still looks a stiff one.
Not seen for a while and this looks to be a comeback run to get him ready for another chasing a sphere where his performances had shown some improvement. Has won twice around here over fences and hurdles and has gone well fresh before.
Another one who is better known as a chaser and finally came good in that sphere with a Cheltenham win in April where he had the ideal scenario to work with. Ran a fair race after that when not getting quite the same test; may need a greater test than this.
Not seen that often but was clearly ready to go when making a winning reappearance at Worcester in August. Doesn't appear to stand much racing so wisely given a break before being asked to follow-up off a 6lb higher mark.
Clearly still in good heart but looked to be undone by this mark last time and the handicapper looks to have her in his grip now after three wins in her last five starts. Stays well and likely to run with credit but more of a place than win chance.
Doesn't always look the easiest ride and has on occasions lost his place in races before staying on well and has also had jumping issues and those resurfaced last time. Capable off this mark but does come with some baggage under a very capable claimer.
Made a winning start for this yard and after a few blips she was back on the winning trail with back-to-back handicap wins in May. Those wins came in a lower grade though and this class and stamina test are likely to prove too much for her.
Forecasts
Scoop The Pot (11/8), Doing Fine (9/2), Lillian (11/2), Mont Choisy (13/2), Buckhorn Timothy (7/1), Young Dillon (14/1), Amron Kali (20/1)
The top three in the weights all look to be using this as a stepping stone for a return to chasing and Buckhorn Timothy and Doing Fine may both need this and the latter especially looks to need a greater test of stamina. Mont Choisy is still well handicapped but his quirks and poor jumping technique are a little off putting and with Lillian sure to run with credit but looking to have a tough time off this mark SCOOP THE POT looks as though he has been found a good chance. He looks as though he needs handling with care being a fragile sort but given a break and off just a 6lb higher mark for his Worcester win back-to-back wins look on the cards.
- Scoop The Pot
- Lillian
- Doing Fine
