Has in the past gone well when fresh and will need to here having not been seen for a considerable time. Managed to capitalise on some good placed efforts when winning at Wincanton (Boxing Day 2015) but failed to follow-up and not seen until now.

Can be difficult ride and often looks under pressure in his races but has looked in better order and humour of late winning two of his last four starts. Has won here in the past and likes to force the pace; dangerous on a going day if given an easy lead.

Has a temperament that can hold him back but has won here twice over shorter trips (cashed in on his lower chase mark in February). Failed to build on that win in a couple of subsequent starts and has questions to answer back from a break.

Really hit form for a change of stable and made use of a lowly mark (well backed) when winning here in June and followed up twice with the last win coming off 108. Got back on track last time (weak race) after possibly going off the boil; capable off this mark.

Steadily going the right way and improving over fences with two wins so far this year although his good run came to a dead end last time (possibly amiss). Now goes again off a mark that proved beyond him last time; not totally written off but this is tougher.

Gets some respite from the handicapper but looks as though he'll need it in this sphere having shown better form over hurdles for his previous yard. Blinkers now added to his usual tongue-tie and plenty to do here to be competitive.

The positive is that she features back on her last winning mark but her form since winning off that mark at Towcester over much shorter has been questionable (race rather fell apart). Her latest form in all spheres hardly encourages though and best watched here.

Forecasts

Wizards Bridge (13/8), Strumble Head (7/2), Fort Gabriel (4/1), Velvet Cognac (8/1), Jack Snipe (17/2), Shockingtimes (14/1), Adarenna (33/1)

Verdict

There are a few questionable profiles here and it doesn’t really appeal as a betting medium; Shockingtimes is worth watching in the market but he’ll have to be at the top of his game to overcome his long absence. Neither Wizards Bridge or Adarenna make much appeal due to recent form and temperament and Jack Snipe is likely to find this tougher than when he hit form in the summer. Strumble Head will be very dangerous with an easy lead although his likely to give his backers a white knuckle ride due to his runs style so FORT GABRIEL is given a chance to capitalise on what looked like a return to form last time out with a visor on for the first time.
  1. Fort Gabriel
  2. Strumble Head
  3. Jack Snipe
