Took well to hurdles last season winning his first two starts and ran consistently after that although he was highly tried on some of his latter starts. Now switched fences (hurdles mark looks stiff) and faces another stiff task here on his chasing debut.

Faces a tall order on his chasing debut having shown ability in novice hurdles but disappointing in handicaps. Can only be watched here in the face of this task.

His form in bumpers was useful and that provided the platform for his hurdles wins landing back-to-back races in May. Failed to complete a hat-trick though over hurdles (odds-on favourite) last time and now switches to fences but faces a difficult task.

Very smart hurdler who won his first two starts last season and took sixth place in the Champion Hurdle. His hurdles mark is now a stiff one and that looks behind his switch to fences; based on his hurdles form he should prove hard to beat on his chase debut.

Showed some decent Flat form when with Michael Bell and took two of his four hurdles starts missing Cheltenham for a crack at a Grade 1 at Aintree (finished fifth). Would have been the second best of these over hurdles now switched to fences for the first time.

Forecasts

Sceau Royal (1/3), Forth Bridge (9/2), Ballyhill (7/1), Positively Dylan (16/1), Farm The Rock (80/1)

Verdict

Without a doubt the best of these over hurdles would have been SCEAU ROYAL and he’s the obvious choice to get his chasing career started with a win. Forth Bridge disappointed at Aintree but he has landed a hurdle at Listed level and whilst his form doesn’t match that of the market leader he should be able to keep this competitive. All of the other three face stiff tasks and will be better off in novice handicap company and Ballyhill and Positively Dylan will be the duo battling it out for the minor placing.
  1. Sceau Royal
  2. Forth Bridge
  3. Positively Dylan
