Up 6lb for a victory on similar ground at Salisbury last time out but that could prove to be a lenient rise given she is still improving, with a jockey she gets on well with booked for the ride.

Carries a 6lb penalty for winning at Haydock in heavy ground last time out. Had been running well over this trip prior to that and though he has to prove himself off this mark a bold bid is still anticipated.

Cameo Star49

Lightly-raced type who managed to win a minor novice event at Beverley, but needs to build on his handicap debut last time when fourth of six, running short of the level that will likely be required here

Has run to a fair level in similar races to this without ever seriously threatening; booking of this jockey interesting but a career best is needed.

Yet to really go close in any of his races, probably his best effort coming over C&D but still would need to do much better than that here.

Consistent sort who is creeping up the handicap but has shown herself to be capable in the conditions and may well be able to run another nice race off her current handicap mark.

Life For Rent30
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby| OR:  69

Narrowly off the mark at Ripon last time out and is raised 3lb as a result. Slight questions to answer over this trip but seems progressive and can't be ruled out.

Ce De Nullis50
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: Martin Lane| T: P T Midgley| OR:  69

Improved for the step up to this trip over C&D last time and holds claims on that evidence, but is done no favours by the widest draw of all and is unraced on soft ground.

Has run to a similar level in two starts since a victory at Kempton, and should be capable of winning another nursery before the end of the year, though this is a competitive enough heat on ground that may not suit.

Good effort in a competitive race at Redcar last time out to finish a narrow second, and goes up just 1lb here. Is drawn well, but has something to prove on the ground if it remains soft.

Seemed at his best over 7f at Kempton two starts ago and wasn't so good dropped in trip last time out. Possible he may find this a little on the sharp side once again.

Two good efforts on the all-weather the last twice and is up another 3lb for finishing second last time out. First start in a turf handicap here but possibly better on a synthetic surface based on the available evidence.

Put in the best of her five performances so far when second at Chepstow last time out, but has it all to do here from 7lb out of the handicap.

Better since switching to handicaps but still looks far from an appealing prospect from a very long way out of the handicap.

Forecasts

Diamond Dougal (13/2), Global Exceed (13/2), Roman Spinner (15/2), Excellent Times (8/1), Life For Rent (8/1), Shania Says (8/1), Daddies Girl (10/1), Ivy Leaguer (12/1), W G Grace (14/1), Cameo Star (14/1), Ce De Nullis (16/1), Alaska (20/1), Saria (25/1), Hard Graft (25/1), Revenge (50/1), Plansina (100/1)

Verdict

There are a few in with chances here but maybe DADDIES GIRL can defy top weight. She is 6lb higher than her victory at Salisbury last time out but given how well she won that may actually be a slightly lenient move from the handicapper, and given her progressive profile and record when partnered by Steve Drowne, there's every chance she can notch up a second victory in a row. Life For Rent is another last time out winner worth considering, while Excellent Times would have to have a very good chance here following an impressive effort at Redcar last time provided she handles the ground.

  2. Life For Rent
  3. Excellent Times
