Off time: 16:17 | Winning time: 1m 45.33s

(16)

Alashtar

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: C P Hoban| T: M Halford

33/1

Henrythenavigator debutant, fourth foal, half-brother to two hurdle winners. Unraced dam closely related to several middle distance performers. No notable entries considering connections.

Form:

(4)

Cacique Royale¹⁰

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: Shane Foley| T: A Oliver

15/2

Cacique colt out of a Mark Of Esteem mare related to multiple winners Dominant, Slumber and recent Doncaster winner Kryptos. Not disgraced over 7f on debut here when 8¼L sixth. Should appreciate extra furlong.

Form: 6

(11)

Danehill Quest^p1⁴²

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: Leigh Roche| T: S Lavery

66/1

Two starts to date, beaten 15L plus on each occasion at 50/1. Gelded since last run but makes no appeal.

Form: 87

(10)

For Pleasure²²

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: D M Redmond⁽⁵⁾| T: J M Barrett

33/1

Nicely bred by Excelebration out of an Iffraaj mare. Third on debut albeit beaten 10L at Listowel over 1m. May prefer slightly better ground here but more needed.

Form: 3

(9)

London Icon⁴⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: P J Smullen| T: A Keatley

9/10

Son of Elzaam purchased for €95,000 as a yearling last September. Ran well under a positive ride on debut, finishing a close third at the Curragh over 7f. Looks a leading contender here providing he gets the extra furlong.

Form: 3

(2)

Maunganui²⁶

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: Ronan Whelan| T: J P Fahey

14/1

Ran well in big fields last twice on both good and soft ground. Second at Bellewstown over 1m penultimate before third over 7f at Down Royal when shaping as if needing further.

Form: 723

(7)

Night Of Power¹⁰

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: Declan McDonogh| T: J M Oxx

9/2

By Masterofthehorse out of a Mr Greeley mare. Yard's two-year olds generally come on for debut but this colt ran with potential when fourth of 15 here over 7f. Should appreciate extra furlong and is respected here.

Form: 4

(8)

Acht Na Gaeilge⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: K J Manning| T: J S Bolger

33/1

Finished seventh of 14 in maiden at Gowran (1m, soft) on debut before 12th of 14 over 7f at Dundalk latest. Top connections the only clear positive at this stage.

Form: 70

(13)

Air Of Nobility²⁶

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: Rory Cleary| T: K H Clarke| OR: 67

25/1

Showed little over 6f in first two starts but made major strides in latest race when second over 7f at Down Royal. Looks like she takes after her dam more than sire so extra furlong should be no problem.

Form: 702

(15)

Encantador⁴⁶

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: Wayne Lordan| T: S Lavery

14/1

Unplaced in three starts although not disgraced last twice. 6¼L fourth of 15 over 1m at the Curragh latest gives her a squeak but she does come off the bridle early in races.

Form: 054

(12)

Escallonia¹⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: Billy Lee| T: W McCreery

25/1

Arcano filly related to multiple winners Bint Arcano, Another Touch and Sha Tin winner King Genki. Ran with promise on debut after slow start when finishing 8½L fifth over 7f at Galway. More to come.

Form: 5

(14)

Faughill³⁴

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: N G McCullagh| T: Mrs J Harrington

50/1

130,000 gns purchase, out of a winning half-sister to Dewhurst and Lockinge Stakes winner Belardo, didn't show a lot in 7f soft ground maiden at Tipperary last month on debut.

Form: 0

(3)

Heroic Seamstress

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: C O'Donoghue| T: Mrs J Harrington

16/1

Lonhro debutant is half-sister to five winners up to 1m½f. Jockey bookings suggest preferred to Faughill on debut here so wouldn't rule out.

Form:

(1)

Hypnotic Force

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: Colin Keane| T: G M Lyons

7/1

31,000 gns yearling by Lethal Force out of a Pivotal mare effective over 6f-1m. Half-sister to four relatively ordinary winners. Not one to rule out for in form connections.

Form:

(5)

Rayita^h1

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: O J Orr⁽⁵⁾| T: J Davison

40/1

€15,000 yearling by Raven's Pass out of a Montjeu mare who won over 1m4f. Trainer yet to have a winner from just 5 runners but this one is nicely bred to be middle-distance three-year old.

Form:

(17)

Resolving²³

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: Seamie Heffernan| T: M J Byrne

66/1

By Arcano out of a Alhaarth mare. Related to multiple winners Another Touch and Kingsley Klarion. 27L seventh of nine on debut over 6½f last month offered little to recommend her.

Form: 7

(6)

Super Network⁵⁷

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: S Corby⁽³⁾| T: J P O'Brien

66/1

Canford Cliffs filly, dam a half-sister to Sweetasever. 21L ninth of 12 on debut at Roscommon in August. Hard to fancy.

Form: 9

Forecasts

London Icon (9/10), Night Of Power (9/2), Hypnotic Force (7/1), Cacique Royale (15/2), Encantador (14/1), Maunganui (14/1), Heroic Seamstress (16/1), Escallonia (25/1), Air Of Nobility (25/1), Alashtar (33/1), For Pleasure (33/1), Acht Na Gaeilge (33/1), Rayita (40/1), Faughill (50/1), Super Network (66/1), Resolving (66/1), Danehill Quest (66/1)

Veteran trainer John Oxx has had a quiet season but NIGHT OF POWER can bring some cheer to the popular County Kildare handler here. He made a pleasing debut over 7f and will appreciate the extra furlong. London Icon is another who ran well on debut and should make a bold bid from the front. Maunganui will appreciate returning to 1m and looks capable of winning a race of this nature.
