Both runs so far have come over 5f on turf, tending to run a bit green at times. Will encounter softest ground to date here and requires improvement to be involved.
50/1 and well beaten in both starts to date. Ninth of 10 on debut over course and distance before a 14L 14th of 17 at Fairyhouse over 6f. Nothing to recommend him.
Son of Choisir is a full-sister to the useful pair Celerina and Another Express. Well beaten behind G1 placed Fleet Review on debut in August. Should come on for that run.
Just two races so far despite debuting on the 1st May. Gelded since last race. Both starts over C&D and showed ability in each. He was 3¾L fourth as 2/1 joint fav latest. Looks a leading player despite layoff.
Dandy Man debutant is a half-brother to three winners including 5f scorer Raggle Taggle and 1m7f winner Lisselan Troubador. Trainer having fine season with two-year olds so worth a market check.
Dream Ahead colt cost €82,000 as a foal, made just an average start over C&D in July, beaten over 7L. Behind Hawaam on that occasion but should get closer now with the experience under his belt.
Choisir colt with more than a hint of stamina in breeding. 9L 11th of 14 on debut on the AW at Dundalk over 6f. Little to recommend him on that effort.
Looked capable of landing a race of this nature in seven starts to date (five placed). Ran well in both starts here and handles most ground. Looks a leading contender.
Promising second of nine on debut when a well backed 6/4 fav. That came in July over 6f on good ground so this a slightly different test but no surprise if she is well fancied again.
Beaten a long way in both starts to date over 7f. Drops significantly in trip but judging by slow start latest it may prove more hindrance than help.
Dream Ahead filly was an €87,000 yearling purchase. Only 10th on debut on the AW at Dundalk although not entirely without promise. The sort capable of stepping forward.
Unraced filly by Big Bad Bob out of a Mastercraftsman mare. Fifth of seven on debut in heavy ground at Listowel over 7f. Drop in trip unlikely to be ideal going off breeding.
Dam needed 1m4f to get off the mark, so very feasible this Vocalised filly will follow suit and that impression was enhanced on debut over 5f at Navan. Lengthy absence since.
Rip Van Winkle debutant. Dam unraced but related to several classy performers over 1m. This first foal. Trainer two from 23 with two-year olds and she may need further.
By Shamardal out of a Dr Fong mare related to the likes of Bosham, Lancelot Du Lac and the recent Ascot winner Cape Byron. Yard without a winner in five years. 13½L 13th in lone start to date.
Beaten 20L on debut and 15½L last time out at 100/1. Drops back 2½f in trip but there is nothing to recommend her here.
Forecasts
Aurora Eclipse (15/8), Verhoyen (4/1), Hawaam (4/1), It's All A Joke (7/1), Hot Stone (8/1), Gottardo (10/1), Lorente (20/1), Rapid Reaction (33/1), Just Waterville (33/1), Nkhata Bay (33/1), New Vocation (33/1), Ar Saoirse (33/1), Highly Approved (50/1), Colonel Paddy (50/1), Rock Crusher (66/1), Verse Of Vienna (100/1)
Having registered several good efforts including a couple over course and distance VERHOYEN sets the standard here. Hawaam has shaped with promise in both starts to date and is one of the main dangers. Aurora Eclipse was second on debut when well backed but has been off for a while since.
- Verhoyen
- Hawaam
- Aurora Eclipse
