Enjoyed a good year on turf, winning twice (at Bath and Chepstow), but climbing in the weights and yet to really prove himself on the AW. No problems with this trip, but needs to bounce back from a lesser effort at Bath in August.

14 race maiden whose previous AW form isn't the strongest. However, he returned from a break with a reasonable effort at Beverley last month (fourth to Ivors Involvement; 1m2f good to firm) and that offers some minor encouragement.

A three time career winner, but never beyond 1m2f and not since July 2016 (Haydock). Largely out of sorts this year, but that has inevitably helped his mark and he's unexposed on the AW.

All of his winning form has come over shorter trips (1m) and despite winning from this mark at Southwell in early April, he's surely vulnerable over this trip and has a wide draw to contend with.

A four time winner on synthetics (all over 1m4f) who is returning to the track for the first time since late December 2015. Unlikely to be progressive at the age of ten and can only be watched unless the market implies otherwise.

His turf mark has risen by 3lb for his 1m3f Amateur Riders handicap success at Ripon in August (good), but his lower AW mark see's him rated 3lb lower than for that success. A possible player under a decent 5lb claimer.

At her very best on Tapeta up at Newcastle, but showing signs that she's in the grip of the handicapper at present, and a surprise if she's in the mix at this track. Can be a shade quirky/reluctant in the prelims.

Has done the vast majority of his racing over shorter trips than this, but shaped as if worth trying over further when a well held third at Lingfield last month (7½f good to soft). His mark looks fair, but a watching brief is advised.

Shown very little in three starts thus far, but makes her handicap and AW debut from a relatively low base, and has a vastly experienced rider on board.

A useful performer once upon a time, but has been around a few trainers over the years. A whopping 20lb lower than for his last AW start in April, but hard to draw any positives from his latest effort at Beverley.

Unexposed filly (six race maiden) who has made the frame on each of her last two starts at Salisbury (1m) and Sandown (1m2f). Well worth a try over this longer trip based on her latest effort and could be thereabouts on her Kempton debut.

Took a 1m2f handicap at Salisbury in July at odds of 20/1, but hasn't really progressed from that success. Still 4lb above that winning mark on his first AW start since March (maiden).

Verdict

A race in which it's probably best advised to give a swerve. However, there has to be a winner and BEATISA appears the most likely candidate assuming that she's capable of staying this longer trip. She is progressive enough despite remaining a maiden, and her most recent 2+L third to Flood Defence at Sandown (1m2f) strongly suggested she was well worth a try at this trip. Of the remainder Lopito De Vega might be one of the more interesting runners at a price, whilst Ripon winner Strictly Art is most definitely handicapped to strike on the AW, if able to translate his turf form to synthetics.
