Proved himself to be a very smart performer over hurdles when a 6L third to Defi Du Seuil in Grade 1 company at Aintree in April (2m1f, good). Followed that by breaking his duck at Warwick in May and despite a penalty he will be very tough to beat.
Former Godolphin inmate once rated 105 on the Flat. Not as good over hurdles so far, but broke his duck at Newton Abbot last time (2m1f, good). Looks up against it under a penalty for this follow-up bid.
A maiden from six starts on the Flat when with Mark Johnston. Now tries hurdling for his new yard and with no National Hunt angle to his pedigree, he looks one to be watching this time.
Runner-up in an Irish point-to-point in April, though well beaten in both starts so far in maiden hurdles since joining this stable. Improvement not ruled out, but will need plenty of that to trouble the principals.
Five-time Flat winner at up to 1m2f and from a highest rating of 79. Handled cut in that sphere and in good hands, in spite of his pedigree, to make a go of it on his first start over hurdles. Market check suggested.
Well beaten in all three starts over hurdles in the spring at around 2m. Yet to race with any cut in the ground and has plenty to prove on all counts on his first outing for over five months.
Came good at the fourth attempt in a Uttoxeter bumper (good) in July for Mick Appleby. Has since joined this yard for his hurdles debut. Pedigree is more about stamina, so this looks a good starting trip and a market check is advised.
Bought for €115,000 last year and has a very nice jumping pedigree, being related to winners from 2m-2m4f. Probably capable of making a good debut, while at the same time likely to improve a fair bit for this first run.
Went off at his shortest price yet (33-1) last time but was again beaten a long way and has shown little in five runs to date. Can't recommend him until we have seen some suggestion of ability.
Irish point-to-point winner who finished runner-up on his bumper debut at Chepstow in March when sent off as favourite. Step up in trip should suit for this hurdles introduction and he looks the yard's first string on jockey bookings. Interesting.
0-14 on the Flat for Neville Bycroft (best efforts at around 1m) and now switches disciplines for his first outing for this yard. Looks to have plenty to prove, not least his stamina.
Couldn't get within 15½L of the winner of any of his three Flat runs for Tim Easterby in 2014 and was last, beaten 26L on debut for this yard after more than three years off. Takes a huge leap of faith to see him being involved on his hurdles debut.
Forecasts
Bedrock (1/3), Saxo Jack (4/1), The Flame (11/2), Inniscastle Lad (16/1), Primo Time (20/1), Chozen (25/1), Ready And Able (33/1), Norse Castle (100/1), Subtle Soldier (100/1), Yorkshire Monarch (100/1), Baileys Galaxy (100/1), Wayside Magic (100/1)
One or two with potential in this line-up, but one who is already beginning to fulfil that is BEDROCK, who looks a cut above the remainder of the field at this stage of his career. Inniscastle Lad is in the right hands to enjoy success in this sphere, while Primo Time is another who looks sure to pick up wins over obstacles. The Flame is probably the more interesting of the two Jonjo O'Neill-trained runners on the occasion and a good debut would not surprise, while Saxo Jack cannot be ruled out of picking up some prize money.
