Three times a winner for Ed Dunlop before losing his way, though signs of a revival at times for this yard, namely at Ascot in August over 1m4f. Hood/cheekpieces are now reapplied and cannot be ruled out.

Has won three times this year, twice on AW and here in April over 1m½f, rated 14lb higher now (career-high mark) and forecast ground conditions are a cause for concern.

Wide margin maiden winner in sole start last year over 1m at Thirsk in good ground. Struggling in decent handicaps this time in however and again well held dropped to Class 4 at Pontefract 10 days ago.

Ended two-year winless streak at Bath in July over 1m (good), went close at Newbury over 1m2f (soft) since off a mark of 83 and can be competitive in this field.

Son of Canford Cliffs is holding his form nicely, registering at Doncaster (1m4f, good to firm) in July and again at Chepstow (1m2f, good to soft) last month. Finished good second since at Sandown under penalty and entitled to be involved once more.

Still only has one win to his name from a Southwell AW maiden (1m) in February, has been banging on the door since, finishing second on last three starts off this rating. Handles the trip and ground but has been costly to follow.

Forecasts

Native Prospect (6/4), Sparte Quercus (4/1), Emenem (6/1), Kharbetation (6/1), Fast Dancer (13/2), Oasis Fantasy (12/1)

Verdict

Native Prospect has been hammering at the door recently and will surely get in sooner or later, his claims in this field are again solid with neither trip nor ground causing concern. He has become expensive to follow however and that is off-putting for now. OASIS FANTASY was once rated 105 when under the care of Ed Dunlop but has dropped down the ratings after a spell in the doldrums. There are signs that this trainer is going to bring about a revival and, on these terms, he could be up to landing this having run a fine race on good to soft over 1m4f at Ascot on his penultimate outing. He skipped an engagement at Haydock on Saturday and might reap the rewards. Sparte Quercus and Fast Dancer are also likely to give their running and be in the finish.
