Was fourth in the Group 3 Earl Of Sefton Stakes (1m1f, good to firm) at the Craven meeting in April, though his form has tailed off, including in two starts since being gelded. On a dangerous mark if he can show some of that previous ability.
Loves it around Lingfield, where he has four course wins, though yet to try this particular circuit. Stays 1m4f, though is 6lb higher than when last winning an All Weather handicap and will need improvement to add to that.
Goes very well here and has already recorded three C&D wins this year. Same mark today as when a 2½L runner-up back over C&D last time out and has to enter calculations once again.
Gave 4lb and a beating to Ickymasho when the pair met here in May and also went close to following up back here from 1lb higher than today. Inconsistent on turf since, but if he produces his running now back here then he is short-list material.
Initiated a hat-trick when winning over C&D in the spring of last year. Has since been unable to cope fully with the handicapper's demands, but has put together some very respectable form in defeat and should be thereabouts.
Yet to win on the All Weather, or beyond 1m1f. Gelded since his last run and has now dropped to a mark that suggests that he should be capable of having a say, though he does have that to prove.
Well placed to win three of his six starts, including one over C&D last year. Not seen since December, when scoring at Lingfield (1m4f, AW). Up 4lb for that, but goes very well when fresh and is short-listed again today.
Four-time winner here, twice over C&D. Just failed by ½L to give 7lb to Ickymasho over C&D in March when 2lb higher and could represent a bit of value against this field.
Forecasts
Petite Jack (4/1), Noble Gift (4/1), Dark Red (4/1), Burcan (4/1), Ickymasho (6/1), Abdon (10/1), Brex Drago (10/1), Pactolus (14/1)
Abdon is much respected after his Group 3 exploits, though there has to be a little concern as to his precise current abilities. Ickymasho looks booked for another good spin around here and cannot be ruled out, with Noble Gift and Pactolus also entering calculations. Dark Red and Brex Drago are also respected, though the latter's stablemate BURCAN is the suggestion. Marco Botti's five-year-old sees out at least this far, remains unexposed and from the inside berth his pilot can hopefully get out and run the race to suit.
- Burcan
- Noble Gift
- Pactolus
