Has produced some smart form on occasions (beat the smart Havana Grey) on his debut and ran with credit on his handicap debut last time. 5f may be a little short but the ground may compensate for that and he's respected here.
Cheekpieces look to have provided the catalyst for his improved form and he saw off a couple of these rivals last time on similar ground. His previous form at Ripon also looks strong and his liking for the ground will help here.
Taking his overall body of work he looks an inconsistent sort with just one win to his name so and that came on the Fibresand at Southwell. Failed to repeat that effort last time still on the AW and reverts to turf now.
Makes his handicap debut here having shown some steady progression throughout the year and his mark looks a workable one. Has shown a very willing attitude so far and that gives him a chance on ground that he should handle.
Dropped back to 5f to get off the mark at Thirsk on his penultimate start he's closely matched with Porchy Party on that running. The going clearly won't be a problem although he might just be worth another try at 6f based on that running.
6f and a drop in class gave him the chance to get off the mark at Brighton and he's not run too badly since although a little below form last time out. The handicapper might now be in control off this mark and 5f begs a further question.
Now stepped into handicaps for the first time having failed to really progress in the three minor events that he's run in so far. This sphere should suit a lot better but he'll improve to take a hand in what looks to be a decent enough heat.
Forecasts
Porchy Party (3/1), Mable Lee (7/2), Up Sticks And Go (9/2), Simmy's Copshop (9/2), Diamond Dougal (11/2), Royal Diplomat (14/1), Rock Hill (18/1)
Both Porchy Party and Simmy’s Copshop have shown some good form so far and each of them has shown that they can operate on this ground but they may find it tough to give weight to the improving UP STICKS AND GO. This one makes his nursery debut here and could well improve for a switch to this sphere having shown progress on each of his runs so far. Mable Lee has work to do on her runs so far and may prefer reverting to 6f with Royal Diplomat another who has won but needs to show more to take a race like this.
- Up Sticks And Go
- Simmy's Copshop
- Porchy Party
