Remains a maiden from 10 hurdle starts and no real impression in three starts this season, including when tried in cheekpieces last time at Listowel (3m, heavy). Down in trip and grade but needs improvement from somewhere.

Multiple point-to-point winner but it's nine starts under rules without a win now, though was third over fences at Tramore last month. Best hurdling effort when fourth on heavy ground over 3m at Listowel latest but drop in trip not ideal here.

Fourth in two Punchestown bumpers in the spring but hasn't looked totally convincing since switched to hurdles, only third when sent off a warm favourite over 2m5f at Sligo last month. Well beaten over 2m at Galway on his handicap debut since.

Remains a maiden after 13 starts over hurdles, though did come close when a runner-up at Cork in March (2m4f, heavy). Would have every chance here if able to reproduce that level of form and fit from a recent blow-out at Listowel.

Has won numerous point-to-points but lightly-raced under rules for his age, though he did win a maiden hurdle at Wexford just over a year ago. Fitness query to answer on first start since a poor effort over 3m in November.

Remains a maiden after 21 starts but clear signs that there is a race to be won with her recently, finishing a close-up fourth over 2m4f (good) at Wexford last time. Same mark here, so has to be respected.

Well beaten in three maiden hurdles but a different proposition since sent handicapping, finishing second of 24 at Punchestown (2m4f, good) in May. Not seen out since a below par effort at Clonmel the following month but dangerous to dismiss.

Winner on soft ground at Fairyhouse over this trip in January and didn't perform badly when coming back from an absence at Ballinrobe in May but laboured badly over an inadequate 2m earlier this month. Much more in favour now.

Second over 2m4f at Cork (good) in June which remains the pick of her hurdles form in ten attempts. Couldn't back that up at Rosscommon next time but handles testing conditions and current mark may not be beyond her.

Age: 9|  Weight: 10-12| J: D N Russell| T: G Elliott| OR:  88
7/2
Four-time Flat winner in the UK who has shown a gradual improvement in three runs over hurdles for this yard, suggesting his time was near when second at Downpatrick (2m3f, heavy) from a 3lb lower mark last week. Obvious claims under Davey Russell.

Lady Mona Lisa10
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-11| J: Sean Flanagan| T: E Sheehy| OR:  91

Looked ordinary on the Flat and has never really threatened in maiden hurdles to date, including when trying 3m for the first time on her handicap debut in May. Well beaten on the Flat since on first run for this yard.

Ballymadun98
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-8| J: C D Maxwell| T: D A McLoughlin| OR:  84

Well beaten on all three starts in maiden hurdles and has shown only glimpses of promise since sent handicapping. First run since June and has yet to really prove she handles testing ground.

25/1
Old stage who was twice a winner over hurdles in his younger days off higher marks but has clearly regressed with age and was beaten out of sight when last seen out at Cork (2m, heavy) in March. Hard to fancy.

Spirit Of The Raint113

She suffered hefty defeats in maiden hurdles during June/July over 2m and 2m4f and it's been a similar tale since going handicapping, pulling up at Listowel earlier this month. Makes no appeal.

Pinotage (7/2), Palmabad (9/2), Conna Cross (6/1), Sparky Stowaway (8/1), Broder (8/1), Ballymadun (9/1), Skellig Rocks (12/1), October Revolution (14/1), Ash Rowe (16/1), Day Day (16/1), Fly Round The Bend (20/1), Notification (25/1), Spirit Of The Rain (33/1), Western Goose (40/1), Lady Mona Lisa (50/1)

Verdict

A trappy affair in which Pinotage could easily prove the answer in the hands of Davey Russell having gone close in a similar event at Downpatrick recently, albeit off a 3lb lower mark. Skellig Rocks is potentially well-treated compared to a higher chase mark but CONNA CROSS could throw up some value if able to rediscover the form he showed when going close over this trip on soft ground at Cork a few runs back.
  1. Conna Cross
  2. Pinotage
  3. Skellig Rocks
