Winner at Haydock on debut and only just touched off in Listed company last time out. Needs another step forward now but he's the first-string on jockey bookings and likely to give it a good go from the front.

Frankel colt, cost 1,600,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother several winners and dam a five-time Group 1 winner. Superb pedigree and got the hang of things late on at York last time. May improve on better ground and will have learnt plenty on debut.

Dawn Approach colt, cost 140,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to a two-year-old winner over the trip and dam a half-sister to Kingman. Showed plenty of ability on debut and interesting he won first time for this yard but plenty more on his plate.

Winner on debut before softer conditions may have found him out at York on second start and back with a better effort when landing a Class 4 over C&D last month. Needs more in this company but yard are in good form and no surprise if he progressed.

Epaulette colt, cost €33,000 as a foal and £90,000 as a Breeze-Up purchase. Dam a half-sister to Grade 1 middle distance winner Folk Opera. Professional performance on debut when winning at Kemptopn but needs a big step forward to figure here.

Improved from his debut to win a pair of races at Musselburgh but struggled in Listed company in France and beaten at Brighton last time out. Plenty to do on form and his rivals are less exposed.

Helmet colt, cost 3,000 gns as a foal. Half-brother to two winners and dam a winner over this trip as a juvenile. Won comfortably enough on debut at Chepstow but nothing to suggest he'd be up to Group company on just his second start.

Improving this season and won a valuable contest at York two starts back. Limitations perhaps exposed a little when favourite for valuable sales race at Doncaster last time out though and others possibly capable of improving past him.

Good second in a Listed race at Ripon last month and improved again to quicken well off a slow pace in a Listed race at Doncaster last time. Solid standard for the rest to aim at and wouldn't mind any rain.

Forecasts

Elarqam (11/8), Tip Two Win (9/2), Fajjaj (6/1), Albishr (6/1), Tangled (8/1), Morlock (12/1), Fortune's Pearl (14/1), Statuario (40/1), Myboyhenry (66/1)

Verdict

There was a lot to like about ELARQAM's debut, beating a smart sort with a certain degree of ease and third and fourth have come out and won subsequently. He looked like he'd be suited to a step up in trip that day but he may have too much class for these rivals regardless. Hugo Palmer's runners often take a big step forward from their debut so it's interesting Fajjaj was up to winning first time out. However, Tip Two Win could prove the main danger having already run some big races in Listed company,
  1. Elarqam
  2. Tip Two Win
  3. Fajjaj
