Winner here over 7f earlier in the season and running well in defeat before getting back in the winners' enclosure at Kempton last time. This is much tougher but he stayed on well and more improvement possible.
Put his experience to good use in a Doncaster maiden last time out when making all and quickened well to assert late on. 10lb rise could underestimate his ability and less to prove than some of these. Should run well for a yard in form.
Siyouni colt, who cost €550,000 as a Breeze-Up purchase and he started to repay the fee at Brighton last time out, winning by 4L. Hard to know what that form is worth but step up in trip is likely to suit and can't be ruled out if he improves again.
Gained his second win at this course last month and form of that race looks solid enough but he disappointed last time at Doncaster, possibly found out by the softer conditions. May bounce back if the rain stays away.
Finished behind Maksab earlier in the campaign but has improved since. Unsuited by the way the race was run at Doncaster last time but not a good sign he hung left under pressure. Not ruled out if he can be forgiven that and may still be in form.
The only maiden in the line-up but shaped well on his last couple of runs, including when just touched off at Haydock on first try over this trip. Possibly made his challenge too soon but it looked a decent race and handicapper given him a chance.
Improved to win on handicap debut at Bath last time out and runner-up and third have come out and run respectably since. This is a much tougher race but she may improve again if she can settle better and can't be discounted.
Forecasts
Blue Laureate (3/1), Global Conqueror (10/3), Rastrelli (7/2), Maksab (13/2), Tadleel (7/1), Paint (9/1), Rhosneigr (16/1)
BLUE LAUREATE was impressive last time out and he shaped liked there could be more improvement to come. With Clive Cox in such good form with his juveniles, the gelding may be the one to side with. Rastrelli shaped like he could be even better over this trip last time out when winning by 4L while Global Conqueror may still be a maiden but he looked a little unlucky not to win last time and his opening handicap mark looks fair enough.
