Sole success came in an Ayr maiden (6f, good) two seasons ago, but the handicapper has had his measure in much better company since. Drops to selling company and has a leading chance at these weights.
Likes soft ground so any drying weather will be against him. Would have claims on his second at Pontefract last month, but has a bit to find with a couple of these and a first-time visor will need to have a positive effect.
Registered wins for four different trainers, but still looking for a success for current handler. This represents his best chance for some time, however, and he has to be respected.
Won a 7f Wolverhampton handicap in first-time cheekpieces in March, but has been below that level of form off higher marks since. Drop in class puts her in the frame and she has each-way claims.
Picked up a couple of races for Kevin Ryan and landed a Kempton handicap for current trainer just over a year ago. Ran well at this track in May and, dropped in class, is another to consider.
Four-times winner on the AW, but 0-9 on turf and has been struggling off low marks in moderate handicaps. Has plenty to do against a few of these rivals
Landed a Southwell handicap in January and has not been disgraced since, despite failing to add to her tally. Her consistency means she ought to give a good account without getting the better of some higher-rated opponents.
Lightly-raced performer who has shown little in maidens and a handicap. Difficult to see him landing a blow despite the drop to selling company.
Without a win in 12 starts and recent efforts have hardly been encouraging. Others make much more appeal.
Won three times for Karl Burke, but recent efforts in handicaps for current handler have not been encouraging. Has plenty to do at the weights and her chance hinges on her reaction to first-time cheekpieces.
Has failed to hit the frame in four starts in maidens and connections have taken little time to drop her in class. Blinkers are fitted for the first time.
Modest performer who is without a win after 13 starts. Nothing in her CV to suggest she will be shedding her maiden tag.
Forecasts
Candelisa (11/10), Fort Bastion (7/4), Dandyleekie (7/1), Seaview (14/1), Lady Lydia (20/1), Let's Twist (25/1), Fidelma Moon (40/1), Stolen Angel (50/1), Giveitsomeginger (125/1), Quadriga (125/1), Dark Illustrator (125/1), Tranquil Tracy (125/1)
A line can be put through plenty of these and the ones to concentrate on CANDELISA, Dandyleekie, Lady Lydia, Let's Twist and Fort Bastion. The latter knows how to win and is feared, but the selection drops noticeably in class and ought to take care of these if putting his best foot forward.
- Candelisa
- Fort Bastion
