Penalised for her Hexham maiden hurdle success in May (2m4f good), but gave Gettysburg Address a fright in what was effectively a match back there earlier this month (beaten a head). Ability to handle softer ground a slight unknown.

A heavy ground Sligo mares bumper winner in August 2016 (2m2f), but slow to make her mark over hurdles until finishing a much improved neck second to Apachee Prince in a C&D handicap earlier this month (good to soft).
Left the care of previous trainer Shane Nolan at the Cheltenham Sale in June for £105,000 after winning a Punchestown bumper by 1¼L in May (2m½f good). Half-sister to Simonsig and Simarthur, so very much one to watch on her hurdles debut.

40/1
First foal who hails from a pointing family, and was never involved (100/1) on hurdles debut over C&D in July (2m maiden hurdle soft).
Proved herself to be a moderate performer in Point-to-Points, and finished a well beaten last of five to Boy In A Bentley on rules/hurdles and stable debut at Cartmel last month (2m6f novices, good to soft).

Yeats filly who joined this yard in May for £12,000 following a couple of placed efforts in bumpers for Pam Sly. Beaten 4¾L by Buy Mistake on stable debut at Hexham last month (bumper), and now goes hurdling for the first time.

Verdict

Pat's Oscar posted a much improved hurdles effort when going down by a neck to Apachee Prince in a C&D handicap hurdle earlier this month, and has the proven ability to handle deep ground (Sligo bumper winner). However, despite holding slight reservations about the ground, the horse to beat would appear to be TALKOFGOLD. She didn't beat too much of any note when successful at Hexham in May, but she made Gettysburg Address dig deep in order to land the odds back down in Northumberland latest. Whilst penalised for her initial success, much of her 7lb penalty is removed by the very capable Ross Chapman (claims 5lb). Of the remainder, Simone, a half-sister to Simonsig looks the most interesting hurdling newcomer.
