Makes her debut on the Flat following a couple of recent runs in bumpers; finishing third of seven to King Vince at Fontwell last month (2m1f+). Others certain to prove far too strong in this company.

Her dam Kohiba was a 7f German juvenile winner, but this filly made her debut in a Newton Abbot bumper last month showing little obvious promise, and would appear to hold very little chance on her Flat debut against these rivals.

Unraced Sixties Icon filly out of Gib. Fourth foal and a half-sister to 7f to 1m winner Waspy, but looks the type likely to benefit from this initial racecourse experience.

100,000 gns yearling who produced a career best effort when just under 1¾L third to Clearly at Kempton latest (1m standard). Back up in trip and could progress now that the penny has dropped.

Dick Turpin filly who is untested beyond 7f so far, but whilst her pedigree implies that this extra yardage should suit, she looks a fraction out of her depth at this level.

Horse silk
5/1
Unraced fifth foal by Champs Elysees out of Market Forces. Her dam was a Listed placed winning stayer, and this filly is a sister to the talented 1m2f/1m4f winner Distain, as well as a half-sister to winners Fast Pace and Limousine.

Starting to look a steady improver with three runs under her belt now although still far from looking the finished article. She looked as though she may have benefitted from a stronger gallop last time out and that may be the key to her chance here.

Has made the frame on her last two starts on turf (beaten by odds-on favourites on both occasions), and whilst this very well bred Galileo filly (€1,050,000 yearling) should handle the AW, a drop in trip doesn't appear an obvious move.

100/1
Nine race maiden who has an official rating of just 40, and therefore has effectively has no chance whatsoever against these rivals at level weights.
Stepped up 4f in trip for her second start at Kempton earlier in the month when finishing a distant fourth to Romina. Out of a dam who was a maiden, and appears of very limited ability herself based upon what we've seen so far.
Unraced fourth foal by Dubawi out of Elusive Sparkle, and cost 400,000 gns as a foal. Her dam was a US winner on dirt, and this filly herself is a half-sister to Australian winners Cadmus and Sea The Sparkle.

Yet to definitively prove she stays this trip, and left Roger Varian for 6,500 gns in July. Did okay on her second start for this trainer at Kempton last month (fifth of 12 over 1m), but this contest looks competitive.

Forecasts

Valley Of Light (5/6), Pretty Passe (4/1), Tinted (4/1), Part Exchange (5/1), Jafetica (8/1), Saniyaat (9/1), Zafaranah (25/1), Nagamaat (33/1), Hewouldwouldnthe (66/1), Kath's Legend (66/1), Ali The Hunter (66/1), The Lady Rules (80/1), Shamonix (100/1), Bombay Rascal (100/1)

Verdict

Pretty Passe was slightly disappointing on her second start at Yarmouth (7f), but sets the benchmark based upon what she has achieved on her other two career starts, seeming much more at ease over an extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton last month. However, she faces some potentially interesting looking newcomers in the shape of Part Exchange, Tinted and VALLEY OF LIGHT. The 400,000 gns (foal) Godolphin owned filly gets the vote on the strength of her dam being a classy US winner (including on dirt), and she has a much better draw than those other aforementioned newcomers, and that's so often a significant factor at this track.
  1. Valley Of Light
  2. Pretty Passe
  3. Part Exchange
