Hasn't won since his debut run and despite top connections keeping the faith he hasn't shown enough recently to suggest a competitive handicap of this nature would be within his grasp.
Has been running in a wide variety of handicaps so far this year but hasn't particularly impressed in any of them; easy to oppose in first time headgear despite another career-low mark.
Last two efforts have been poor and for all he was progressive prior to that his previous performances over this trip were hardly encouraging.
Winner at Beverley in June but not at his best since, only 1lb higher now but a revival needed dropping back down to this trip.
Has come into some good form of late and won over C&D last time out, up 4lb here which seems fair and every chance that he could go very close again.
Sole win to date came over this trip and though he was poor last time he cannot be ruled out if able to bounce back here and return to form.
Didn't convince she stayed this far on her sole previous attempt at the trip, but clearly handles the surface/track given the way she outran her 33/1 odds over 7f here last time out.
Ran well on this surface on his debut and should be able to show more than his recent performances now down in trip and dropped 3lb by the handicapper.
Hasn't really landed a blow in maidens, and sole attempt at a handicap so far was relatively unexciting. More needed now off 7lb lower than on that occasion.
Yet to show a massive amount in his races, including on handicap debut last time when giving the impression he will struggle off this weight. Tongue strap added for the first time.
Better than the form figures suggest over C&D last time (also his first run since being gelded), but more needed here in what could be a tougher race.
Showed some promise last year but not at that level for most of 2017; has it all to do following two wide-margin defeats.
Return to this trip off a low weights should suit here, but doesn't seem particularly progressive and others look likelier types now she has had plenty of chances.

Mesophere (9/2), Solent Meads (5/1), Tailor's Row (6/1), Peace And Plenty (13/2), Chicago Star (7/1), Evening Hill (9/1), Zoffany Bay (9/1), Mont Royal (9/1), Pinnata (12/1), Discovered (12/1), Characterized (12/1), Quinteo (20/1), Marilyn (25/1), Mulsanne Chase (66/1)
SOLENT MEADS has come into great form on the all-weather in his last two starts including a C&D victory last time out and a 4lb rise seems fair. There could be plenty more to come from him on the Polytrack given his age and profile, and with George Downing (who knows him well) in the saddle again, everything looks set for another big run. The lightly-raced Mesophere and Chicago Star, provided she stays the trip, are others who could go close.
- Solent Meads
- Mesophere
- Chicago Star
