This has been his level in the past but hasn't been up to the task in two starts so far this year; vulnerable against some better handicapper options in this field.
Yet to impress since moving to this yard from Marco Botti's, but two of those runs have come in valuable sprint handicaps, and he may be able to show better now back at a slightly lesser level.
Only tame showings in decent sprint handicaps since making a winning seasonal debut in May; makes his Polytrack debut here but not currently at his best.
Not at his best this season since returning from a long lay-off; a revival to his top form needed in order for him to have a say here.
Has run well on this surface in the past and has been going well over shorter in his recent races. 9lb higher on the all weather than turf, which could be an issue for him here.
On a long enough losing streak now but has scarcely even run a poor race over this C&D, winning three of those starts. In an easier race than some of her recent assignments, she should be able to at least go very close.
Still has just a novice race to his name at this stage, but most of the races he has run in since have been better than this; interesting with this jockey booked and first time blinkers applied.
Starting to accrue a long enough losing streak by now, and hasn't been given much help by the handicapper in that time; others arrive here in much better form.
Form has dropped off slightly since a long winning sequence came to an end and his record on the all-weather isn't exactly encouraging, but his best form is above many of the rest of these.
Has a favourable overall strike-rate and is already proven on the Polytrack; not at his very best recently but some of those races looked tougher than this contest.
C&D winner who isn't the most consistent of horses but has a good record on Polytrack and can't be discounted if able to show something like his best.
C&D winner who continues to be an established performer at this level despite his advancing years. Attractive strike-rate on this surface and is well-drawn, though he does need to prove himself off this mark.
Forecasts
Jaywalker (4/1), Lightning Charlie (11/2), Seeking Magic (6/1), Naadirr (6/1), Sign of The Kodiac (7/1), Stellarta (8/1), Tropics (12/1), Barrington (12/1), Gentlemen (20/1), Goodwood Crusader (20/1), Barracuda Boy (25/1), Blaine (50/1)
Quite a few of these are stepping down from a higher class for this contest, including STELLARTA, who may be able to end her losing streak here. Michael Blanshard's six-year-old mare has shown a liking for this C&D in the past, winning over it on three times, and is drawn well in what looks a suitable race for her. Seeking Magic continues to show good form despite his advancing years and is another to consider, while Goodwood Crusader would also be a threat if returning to his best.
- Stellarta
- Seeking Magic
- Goodwood Crusader
