Shaped with plenty of promise on the Flat (missed a reasonable looking opening at Brighton last week) already adapted well to the challenge of hurdling. Very interesting contender and leading contender in this company. (Yard won this last year.)
1-from-3 over hurdles but found little under a penalty latest and comes here with a bit to prove. Ground ought to suit, so no surprise to see him bounce back.
Form on the Flat has suggested he has a win within him at some point. However, his debut over hurdles leaves him with plenty to find and it's difficult to lay out a strong case in his favour on that evidence. (Big improvement needed.)
Signs of ability but worth noting he burst a blood vessel at Market Rasen in June and comes with risks attached, even though he ran well to finish third of five at the same course last month.
Best of this modest bunch on the Flat, so has to be respected on that evidence. The betting can guide as to expectations of him delivering over hurdles at the first time of asking.
Plenty to find with Lord E judging by his debut run over hurdles and hard to see him reversing the form at the present time.
Won over 7f form Richard Hughes in June and subsequently swapped hands for a reported 33,000 gns. Up significantly in trip and needs to prove his jumping capabilities. May be one to watch here.
Forecasts
High Wells (9/4), Lord E (9/4), City Dreamer (4/1), The Raven Master (6/1), Jumping Jack (7/1), Born Legend (28/1), Hi There Silver (200/1)
There was a lot to like about his hurdling debut, and with significant doubts existing about some of the rest, LORD E gets the nod to expand on his profile here. High Wells has decent claims on the pick of his form on the Flat, so also merits a check in the betting, while The Raven Master has winning form over timber to his name and could easily bounce back to form in this company. Jumping Jack swapped hands for a sizable sum recently but needs to prove his stamina, so is one to just take notes on this time around.
- Lord E
- High Wells
- The Raven Master
