A very consistent sort this year who already has three wins on the board and is also a course winner handling all conditions. His last two runs (one over hurdles) have been a little below-par but no surprise to see him bounce back here.
Appears to have found a new lease of life going from the front in handicaps and nearly completed a hat-trick at Musselburgh last time off a 2lb lower mark. Even off this mark he will be dangerous if allowed a soft lead here on a track that suits pacemakers.
Like many from this yard has had plenty of racing this year and can go from the front although she ran poorly under those tactics last time. Back below her last winning mark and always hard to write off contenders from this yard.
The 2f increase in trip saw him score on his second maiden start possibly having a little in hand on the AW. Made his handicap/turf debut last time and probably needed the run in a race that was a tough introduction to life in those two spheres.
Twice a winner on the AW earlier in the year off lower marks when wearing a tongue-tie he caught the eye last time without the headgear. Wasn't given a hard time at all over 1m4f and still looks on a handy mark here with the tongue-tie reapplied. Watch in the market.
Lightly-raced this year (just three runs) and although he's run with credit he looks as though he has work to do from this mark. Now stepped up in trip in a bid to find some improvement but needs help from the handicapper to be of interest.
Two AW wins earlier in the year showed him in a good light but he's paid for those in handicapping terms. Found his good run of form coming to an end of late and he was beaten in a messy race over C&D last time and faces a tough task off 70.
Forecasts
Brandon Castle (6/5), Fulham (10/3), Sheriff Garrett (5/1), First Quest (11/1), Mr Globetrotter (11/1), Star Of Lombardy (20/1), Up Ten Down Two (33/1)
Provided he doesn’t get too much pace pressure from Star Of Lombardy then BRANDON CASTLE may well be able to regain the winning thread here under another positive ride on a track where such tactics are often a positive. Mr Globetrotter needs to find his form again but is the only course winner in the field while both First Quest and Sheriff Garrett need help from the handicapper now. The one that should be watched in the market is Up Ten Down Two who ran an eye-catching race last time out although his stable haven’t exactly been in the rudest of health lately.
- Brandon Castle
- Mr Globetrotter
- Up Ten Down Two
