Appeared to appreciate the softer surface when winning novice at Yarmouth over 7f (had the edge of experience) and ran with credit on his handicap debut. Didn't look that well handicapped and eased a couple of pounds now but still looks high enough in the weights.
Could hardly be said to be improving with experience and although he was well supported for his handicap debut (more patiently ridden) he still came up short. Headgear now goes on for the first time in a bid to find some further improvement.
The only handicap debutante in the field she certainly offered something to work on in all runs prior to her heavy ground win at Carlisle over 7f. Well-backed there she looked capable of better and a mark of 78 looks very workable.
Has on a few occasions been aided by a soft lead but still hasn't managed to put a race to bed. Found out in a better race last time and now returns to handicaps having been beaten off similar marks already and others appeal more.
Has had plenty of racing this year with his Beverley win in a minor even remaining his best performance so far. Softer ground looked a problem on the one occasion he encountered it with his AW form last time also ordinary.
Gradually stepped up in trip without the increased trips up to a mile not necessarily looking to help his cause. His third at Thirsk last time out reads well enough but isn't that solid and he has work to do off this mark.
Switched back to novice company after making his nursery debut he managed to get off the mark over 6f here. His form since then has been a rather mixed bag and whilst this mark looks fair enough he does have to show a little more.
Given a fairly tough introduction in this sphere in a Newmarket 0-95 over 7f he ran fairly well and coped well enough with a soft ground mile last time. Conditions will prove no problem here and this trip and ground may well suit him ideally.
From a stable that have had a poor season overall generally struggling for winners and this one has only produced some modest form so far. The switch to handicaps last time failed to see her step forward and best watched here.
Forecasts
El Chapo (3/1), Barford (4/1), Tunes Of Glory (5/1), Bungee Jump (7/1), Star Of Zaam (8/1), Poet's Dawn (12/1), Austin Powers (12/1), Dontgiveuponbob (14/1), Bibbidibobbidiboo (16/1)
There don’t look to be that many of the right side of their handicap marks here but one who may well be is BUNGEE JUMP who won’t mind any cut in the ground and looks to be on a decent mark of 78 and could well step forward on her debut in this sphere. Top weight Barford looks like he could be solid enough at this level without being one to get too excited about with El Chapo looking to be worth another chance having been given a couple of stiff tasks, Star Of Zaam is another who features off a mark which is workable and his course experience may well stand him in good stead.
- Bungee Jump
- El Chapo
- Star Of Zaam
