Horse A-Z
Impressed on his debut in November 2015 but has clearly been difficult to train since. Claims rest on trainer bringing him back to that early level rather than what we have seen since.
Showed a good turn of foot to land a Vichy bumper (1m4f, soft) in May 2016. His stable companion back in fourth turned out to be very useful. Has joined a powerful yard with a good record here and the market will be a clue to his readiness.

Shock winner on Warwick debut and went on to improve on that in his next couple of starts including a Grade Two at Aintree. Main concern is that this could develop into a tactical affair and he may need a more galloping track.

€29,000 purchase by Court Cave out of an unraced mare who is related to a couple of winners. Stable have secured champion jockey with a 3-7 record when riding for them.

€42,000 son of Stowaway and related to a bumper winner. Modest form in point-to-points and yard 1-51 in bumpers over past five seasons.
Cost €11,000 euros as a two-year-old and hails from a winning family in France. Last of seven on debut here in June and hard to see him finding the improvement needed to score in a better race.

Verdict

Court Out is an interesting newcomer with the champion jockey booked to ride and given his record for the trainer. Point Of Principle will be a warm order for this based on his performances last season which include winning a Warwick bumper which worked out well before a good run at Carlisle. He stepped up again when not beaten far in a valuable Grade Two. However, he looks the type who may want more of a test than promised here. If this develops into a sprint around this tight circuit, then he could be vulnerable on the evidence of his tendency to hit a flat spot. DARLING MALTAIX showed a good turn of foot when making a winning debut at Vichy and has joined a top outfit who have employed this rider to good effect (11-44).
