Didn't appear at all suited by the drop back to this trip for his second start earlier this month, and has plenty on to reverse C&D form with Lady Of the Lamp.

No joy in eight starts, and in truth has possibly regressed rather than progressed. However, beaten just under 2L (third) by Marseille over C&D in April, and having raced over longer trips since, he couldn't be ruled out in a weak contest.

Went close to justifying favouritism when beaten ¾L by Otomo at Brighton in May (6f good), but worryingly has offered little since, finishing last in two of his three subsequent starts.

28,000 gns yearling who returns to action after 12 months off the track. His juvenile efforts were nothing much to write home about, and difficult to consider unless the market tells a different tale.

Left Ann Duffield after a low-key effort on debut at Beverley (5f) in September 2015, and finished last of ten on recent stable bow at Redcar (7f) following an almost 2 year break from the track. Little chance.

Poor form in both starts thus far, and the drop down to 5f over C&D latest didn't appear to suit. Plenty to do to reverse form with Lady Of The Lamp.

Invincible Spirit filly who is a half-sister to five winners including 1m Group 2 winner Duntle. Has shown a similar level of form on both starts on a strict line through recent C&D conqueror Nuns Walk. No star, but the one to beat.

Didn't show too much ability in a couple of starts for James Fanshawe earlier in the year, and has moved onto a new trainer. Pedigree suggests this trip should suit and no surprise in the slightest to see an improved effort.

Forecasts

Lady Of The Lamp (5/4), Eltanin (2/1), Raffle King (4/1), Sky Gypsy (8/1), Spruce Lodge (9/1), Roubles (14/1), High Anxiety (40/1), Encoded (100/1), Kaylen's Mischief (100/1)

Verdict

A race in which LADY OF THE LAMP appears to have found the ideal opportunity to build upon her recent C&D second to Nuns Walk; which came in a similarly moderate 5f maiden earlier this month. She is clearly no star billing, but has demonstrated a degree of consistency in both career starts and deserves to go one place better. Few others make appeal, but if there is to be a potential improver, previous 'winner' Sky Gypsy or stable switcher Roubles would appear the likeliest candidates.
