Four wins from 11 starts this year, including last time out on the sand at Laytown over 7f in a claimer. Has won here before, not discounted on first start for new handler.

Just the one win from 27 starts, has been toiling in two recent turf runs but ran well over this C&D in July off 2lb lower mark. Needs to produce best.

Gone well in all three C&D runs this year, gaining 1L victory in an apprentice race last month off a mark of 58. This is more demanding but ran sound race on turf since off increased rating.

Ten-race maiden, ran some solid races at lowly levels without getting off the mark in hands of Karl Burke, off the track now for 375 days. Market can guide on first start for new yard.

Only moderate promise in maidens, bit better when 5½L third of 11 in handicap bow at Tipperary (7½f, soft) last time and booking of Smullen spikes interest this time.

Best effort in seven-race career came over C&D in May on penultimate start when attempting to make all, just caught late on and settled for second. Not as good last month here over 7f under more patient tactics. Drawn to get a handy placing here.

Yet to score in 30 starts, remote third behind Tom Dooley in a claimer at Laytown last time out, probably holding similar ambitions here at best.

Just failed to get up over 6f at Laytown this month on third start for this yard, seems worth another try at the mile off the same rating.

Still a maiden after 16 starts but much improved effort last month in C&D apprentice when 1L second of 14 behind Wild Shot, is up 3lb for that but capable of doing well again if in the same mood.

Yet to run into the money in seven-race career, has plenty work to do based on 9L over this C&D in May on sole previous AW run.

Returned from a layoff with pair of tame efforts on turf over this trip in June/July at Gowran Park and Killarney, plenty to prove on form and has gone 17 runs at this track without adding to sole success.

Unplaced in 12-race career to date and hasn't looked likely to buck that trend in succession of runs this year. Makes little appeal on form.

A 25-race maiden, has no discernible form in the book that suggests he might defy the odds in this contest. Beaten close to 20L over this trip at Listowel recently and 7lb wrong on these terms.

Should be suited by return to 1m, gets first-time blinkers added and cannot be ruled out, though best form has come on soft ground. First try on this surface, watch betting.

Verdict

TOM DOOLEY bounced back into form when winning a claimer at Laytown last time and the manner in which he did so suggests the former course winner ought to be given due respect arriving here for new connections with a penalty. He has fair claims of getting his fifth win of 2017. Wild Shot has been consistent over C&D this year and his latest offering on turf confirms he can be competitive off current mark. Streisand is worth some attention based on the positive jockey booking while Border Prince could threaten if repeating the positive tactics of his penultimate run. Boxer Dunford was closing at the line over shorter last time and looks worthy of another shot at the mile on fourth start for these connections.
  1. Tom Dooley
  2. Wild Shot
  3. Border Prince
