Continues to threaten in this company, going down by the slenderest of margins latest over 7f on turf at Cork. Just about sets the standard here.

A 12-race maiden, has gone close over C&D before and again ran fine race over 7f here last month when ½L second of 14. Entitled to fair claims.

Respectable efforts in a pair of turf maidens over 6f and first-time tongue-tie needs to see him improve now tackling this trip for the first time.

Oasis Dream gelding, weakened and completely tailed off on debut over 1m2f here in July. Hasn't done anything in two turf runs since over this sort of trip to warrant suggestion breakthrough is coming.

Son of Medicean and a half-brother to winners Sapphririne and Cosquillas, beaten 4L at the Curragh over 6f on debut, should be more to come and get Smullen for assistance now.

Fair effort in turf maidens over 6f/7f this year without ever truly looking like a breakthrough is imminent. First outing on the AW, up to a 1m, needs to improve.

Nothing of any consequence in four career starts on turf so far, latest when attempting this trip for the first, impossible to support on form.

Just the four starts but took a backwards step on handicap bow at Listowel recently, though heavy ground perhaps not ideal there. Has handled this surface before so no out ruled out on return and one to monitor in betting.

Well held in a trio of maidens for Patrick Harney, and fared no better on handicap debut for new yard last time, albeit hampered at an early stage and left poorly placed. Changed hands again since and watching brief seems best.

Filly by Power, makes her racecourse bow here and market can be the best guide to expectations in what isn't a strong maiden on paper.

Daughter of Equiano is the second debutant in the line-up, yard have had a couple of winners lately and capable of landing a touch at this venue.

Pure Action (5/4), Smugglers Creek (4/1), Presidential (7/1), Peace Officer (8/1), Dandy Rock (8/1), Boy Charlton (12/1), Vanderbilt (16/1), Dance Along (16/1), Blue Skimmer (20/1), De La Vega (28/1), Island Song (33/1), Mel Biechif Diane (50/1), Atlantic Jet (50/1), Queen Meave (66/1), Tale Of Fame (66/1), Sobistabo (100/1), Qubtaan (100/1)

Verdict

Pure Action just about sets the standard for this maiden and must be taken seriously having gone very close on turf at Cork recently over a furlong shorter. However, DANDY ROCK has knocked on the door at this venue in the past and was beaten ½L over 7f a month ago, the fitting of first-time cheekpieces might see him over the line this time. Smugglers Creek can improve from his Curragh debut and get involved with the champion jockey taking over while De La Vega and Vanderbilt would be in with a chance if putting forward their best efforts.
  1. Dandy Rock

  3. Smugglers Creek
