Looks to have been harshly dealt with for a Newmarket win over 7f on his penultimate start where he did well to win having been close to a strong gallop all the way. Failed off an 8lb higher mark last time and has to overcome that mark again.
Put his best foot forward (not always the case) last time to score an improbable victory from way off the pace at Epsom over 7f. Very slow away (not for the first time) and no guarantee that he'll be in the same form here off a 2lb higher mark.
Has taken three 7f handicaps this year with the latest coming in determined fashion at Thirsk a couple of starts back off a 3lb lower mark. Not quite in the same form since and was below form last time out and possible the assessor has caught up with him.
Win his maiden over a mile and his following two handicap runs were over further and its possible that he's best suited by the 7f that he won over last time best. If he has found his ideal trip then he has the potential to do better back on turf now.
His maiden runs always suggested that handicaps would see him in a better light and so it proved when he won on handicap debut over C&D looking to have plenty in hand. Failed to follow-up under a penalty but better still awaits in this sphere.
Forecasts
Big Tour (6/4), Mountain Rescue (5/2), Noble Masterpiece (3/1), Theodorico (9/1), Pastoral Player (11/1)
A fascinating clash between the two three-year-olds with both Big Tour and NOBLE MASTERPIECE looking as though they can take higher rank over this trip with the former looking to have found his niche but the latter just gets the nod having shown a good turn of foot already. The older brigade look up against it with Mountain Rescue having a tough gig off this mark whilst Theodorico looks to have gone off the boil and Pastoral Player is very hard to predict.
- Noble Masterpiece
- Big Tour
- Mountain Rescue
