Won here in July over slightly shorter trip, coming through nicely from off the pace to score. Seems to handle any ground and beaten less than 1L latest at Sandown over this trip, should be competitive raised 1lb.

Doesn't win too many (2-29) but had been in good form prior to flop at Epsom in April, returns to action now, market can guide what is expected first up.

One win from seven starts came over this trip at Pontefract on good to firm in June, beaten favourite under the penalty at Newmarket six days later and since well held in Goodwood handicap last month (1m3f, soft). Receive weight from all rivals.

Rotherwick (11/8), Swiftsure (2/1), Faithful Creek (9/2), Solo Hunter (6/1)

Verdict

None of the quartet appear to hold outstanding claims and this looks quite open as a result. Swiftsure was a bit disappointing at Goodwood last month but had some good from previously and, getting weight all round, could have a big run in her. Sole Hunter won well fresh at Windsor in April and comes here off a break while he's also assured with cut in the ground. Faithful Creek is also back from a layoff and doesn't tend to win often enough so the nod goes to ROTHERWICK, who won over shorter around here in July and has since gone well at Sandown, ensuring he looks capable of a bold bid on these terms.
