Dual C&D winner who last scored her on her penultimate run (travelled strongly) to win easily enough having looked to find life tough off that mark (73). Ran with credit in a much tougher grade last time and now back to the right level (all wins in this class).
Speedy filly who is well drawn to attack here and is already a dual C&D winner off similar marks. Has been below her best on her last three starts however (doing too much each time) but not written off if getting a more measured ride this time.
Has been running well this year and already has three wins to his name including one over C&D but that was off a 10lb lower mark. Has improved since then and has run respectably off this mark but needs to bounce back from a poor run.
Made the most of a fairly easy looking opportunity when winning a maiden at Hamilton in August (form franked by the subsequent exploits of the second). Ran with credit back in handicaps and the blinkers now go on for the first time in a bid to find a little more.
Won a couple of races in France earlier in the year prior to joining this yard but hasn't really looked like adding to those victories in three starts in GB. Doesn't look that well handicapped on his French form and questions to answer here.
Pontefract winner last year over 5f but only has one decent run to his name this year and that came on the AW. Tried over 6f the last twice and may well have needed the race last time (showed speed) but faces awkward draw here.
Hit a real purple patch earlier in the year completing a hat-trick at Haydock off 70 (well-in under penalty) but looks to have gone off the boil in four runs since. Has won over C&D and well drawn here but others may well be sharper now.
Looked better than ever last time out when taking along in a Doncaster handicap but did leave a question mark about his finishing effort there. Very consistent and did win the time before but not hard to see him placing without winning.
Trainer has a very good record with his sprinters and this one has run well enough here before without winning. Took advantage of a drop in the weights to win at Hamilton recently but was well below form last time when failing to see his race out.
No luck so far this year with the handicapper seemingly reluctant to let go with him running consistently although he made little impression on his latest start. He has now slipped down below his last winning mark and is well drawn here.
Inconsistent type who often runs well when not expected to but has overall continued to disappoint. Remains a touch above her last winning mark and has an outside draw to cope with here and others make more appeal.
Yet to win this year and has shown flashes of his 2016 form which saw him take a division of this race off a 2lb higher mark. Has for the most part been consistent this term but has an unfavourable draw to cope with here (drawn in stall 4 last year).
Forecasts
Dirchill (3/1), Suwaan (7/2), Lydia's Place (13/2), Foxy Boy (7/1), Mininggold (8/1), Astrophysics (9/1), One Boy (16/1), Flash City (16/1), Jacob's Pillow (20/1), Savannah Beau (20/1), Van Gerwen (33/1), Tan (40/1)
Plenty of these should be capable of taking a hand in this a typically competitive sprint handicap for the course. Mininggold has been in good form this year and if she were better drawn she would probably have been the selection. Suwaan is likely to travel like the winner at some point but the question is always will be go through with his effort at the finish and that probably leads to the likes of Flash City and One Boy being of more interest for win purposes. Lydia’s Place is well drawn for a speedy sort and should grab a good position on the rails while last year’s winner Astrophysics isn’t out of the picture. But this might provide a good opportunity for the first-time blinkered DIRCHILL to get off the mark in handicaps after his Hamilton maiden win has been well advertised by the form of the runner-up.
