Yet to win here but has gone close to doing so and goes well over this trip /on soft ground. 4lb higher than when winning at Pontefract in August, but won from a higher mark last season. Each-way claims.
Threatened in a couple of handicaps before winning one at Yarmouth (6f, soft) last month. Went close last time at Epsom after just a 1lb rise. Has now crept up a further 2lb, but remains unexposed and should be very competitive in these conditions.
Won a Doncaster maiden (6f, good to soft) on debut in July and was just held on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton next time. Well beaten in both runs since, but drop back in grade could help him finish much closer again.
Won on bottomless ground at Nottingham last month (6f) from 4lb lower. Went close next time from a higher mark than today, though has lost her way a bit since, leaving her with a bit to prove.
2-15, the second of those wins coming two starts ago on soft ground at Leicester (6f) on his first start for this trainer. Ran well again in better company from this mark last time and looks to have each way claims again.
The last of his five wins was in June 2016 from 8lb higher, while the closest he has come to success since was here over C&D (good to firm) in July, when 4lb higher. Would have claims if able to run to that level, though soft ground not ideal.
1-15, that sole success being on the All Weather in a 6f maiden. Two of his best three efforts since have also been on artificial surfaces, though he also ran well from today's mark at Newmarket (6f, good). Has an each-way shout.
Both of her wins have come at Ripon, the more recent being 13 months ago over today's trip (good to soft) from 3lb lower. Back to form when making the frame from this mark on her last two starts and not ruled out.
Both his handicap wins have been at Ayr and over this trip. Handles soft ground, although well held on it from this mark at Hamilton last time. Has sufficient form from this sort of mark to give him an each-way chance.
Won from a mark of 88 at York's Dante Festival last year, but has seen a dramatic dip in form since and goes into this 22lb lower. Handles soft ground and this is his optimum trip, but he is difficult to fancy on recent evidence.
Without a win for almost two years and seems to reserve his best turf efforts for Thirsk. Has run well there a couple of times recently and also at Beverley last time. Handles soft ground and is another with an each-way squeak.
Forecasts
Geoff Potts (3/1), Summerghand (11/2), Interlink (13/2), Penny Pot Lane (7/1), Duke Cosimo (15/2), Cosmic Chatter (12/1), Point Of Woods (14/1), Samarmadi (14/1), See The Sun (14/1), Racquet (25/1), Lexington Sky (33/1)
Cosmic Chatter is on the sort of mark that should see him involved at the business end, but the suggestion in this is SUMMERGHAND, who is creeping up a little in the weights, but acts on this ground and remains unexposed, which is not something you can say of many in this line-up. Samarmadi should finish closer now dropped back to this level, though each-way players have a tough job here with plenty of them having claims, including Racquet, Interlink and Geoff Potts.
- Summerghand
- Cosmic Chatter
- Geoff Potts
