No win since September 2015 and is still yet to really prove his stamina over this distance. Versatile as regards ground but tough to be overly-enthused by his recent form.
First run in a Flat turf race since May 2014, and makes his first appearance of this year under either code. Won over hurdles on his penultimate start but record on the Flat less encouraging and will probably need this.
Flat turf performances so far have generally been nothing special, but she would be a player if able to transfer her all-weather form onto grass here, though she hasn't been at her best in her recent efforts; had a short break since.
Yet to record his first win in Britain but has put up a couple of promising performances, including over 1m6f last time. Up 2lb now and not discounted on his return to this trip.
Has been performing well over much further than this over hurdles recently, but is 0-8 and only beat one horse home at Bath when last seen in August.
Fair performer over shorter but is yet to truly prove his stamina for this trip, looks exposed and unlikely to be winning soon based on his recent form.
Never involved in his two starts since returning from a long break; major revival needed now fitted with a first time visor.
Best effort so far when stepping up to this trip for the first time at Goodwood last time out, and was unlucky to be only narrowly denied. Strong claims if replicating that performance off 3lb higher.
Not far away on his first attempt at this trip at Kempton last time; looks dangerous if able to build on that effort now returning to turf given his lightly-raced profile.
Sole victory came in September 2015 and tough ask to get excited about his form for his current trainer now stepping back up in trip.
0-14 and has been given little assistance by the handicapper given he has never really threatened to get off the mark. Easy to dismiss once again.
Ran very well at Kempton last time to be only narrowly denied, but is also effective on turf and has been looking like a first career victory is imminent recently. Current handicap mark is fine.
Forecasts
Kozier (1/1), Alternate Route (9/2), General Allenby (5/1), Goldslinger (9/1), Miskin (11/1), Lake Shore Drive (20/1), Kalimantan (25/1), Petrify (25/1), Work (25/1), Cropley (40/1), Flannery (50/1), Rob's Legacy (50/1)
Having been stepped up to this trip for the first time at Kempton last time out ALTERNATE ROUTE took his form to a new level and is of interest here, particularly if Franny Nisbet can boost the form of that race in the first division of this contest (4:55). Miskin will surely get off the mark in Britain sooner or later and could be the main danger given how he performed over 1m6f last time, while Kozier was just denied at Goodwood last time out and is also feared.
- Alternate Route
- Miskin
- Kozier
