Form has tailed off slightly recently, but has form on soft/heavy ground and has run well over similar trip to this in the past; not discounted.

Has run some fair races in handicaps so far this year but form figures read 86 on ground worse than soft (both in France), so would want to avoid any further rain.

Achieved a hat-trick earlier on this year, not quite at that level since (especially the last twice), but this trip on soft ground out to suit, gets on well with this jockey.

Consistent type who ran a better race than the form figures suggest at Redcar last time out . Hasn't been given all that much assistance by the handicapper recently but has form on heavy and extra furlong unlikely to be a problem.

No win since November 2015 but not disgraced recently, having been running well over slightly further than this. 17lb lower than his highest winning mark but nowhere near that level currently.

Winner at Beverley in August and drop back down in trip here should suit, and record on ground softer than good is encouraging. Not ruled out for a place despite being slightly inconsistent.

Gradually progressing with every run and this opening mark seems to be a fair one on the basis of a close second in a maiden over C&D last time out. Respected on this handicap debut.

Makes his belated season debut for a new trainer, and stays further than this with the ground fine for him. Question mark would be his return from an absence of almost a year.

C&D winner on his penultimate Flat start and ran perfectly well at Haydock last time off 4lb higher. On the same mark now and no surprise to see him go close once again having recently returned to form.

0/13 and makes his stable debut here having been absent since January. First turf run in over a year and overall profile suggests she is an unlikely winner of this.

Only career victory in 35 attempts has come on the all-weather, most his runs recently have been nothing special and unraced on the forecast heavy ground.

Not encouraging form since moving to this yard, winner on soft ground over slightly shorter than this but needs to return to that sort of form here.

Forecasts

Topamichi (9/4), Parole (7/2), Hague Convention (13/2), Maraakib (15/2), Miningrocks (8/1), Abushamah (10/1), Haroon (10/1), Toboggan's Fire (16/1), Polar Forest (18/1), Billy Bond (20/1), Konig Dax (25/1), Page Of Wands (66/1), Fidelma Moon (66/1)

Verdict

HAGUE CONVENTION impressed at Bellewstown last time out and looks to be on a workable mark here only 2lb higher. He has taken a while to get going but if he can build on that positive showing last time out it's possible he could be the one to side with here. The consistent Abushamah was better value than his seventh placed finish last time out suggests and should be higher up the result list this time, while recent C&D winner Parole can't be ruled out either.
  1. Hague Convention
  2. Abushamah
  3. Parole
