His last three wins have all come over this C&D with two of those victories coming in the last four runs and he bounced back to form here last time out. Pushed up 1lb for that win he doesn't have much in hand off that mark and low draw won't help.

Looked as though earlier in the season as though he might be building up to something but that form never really materialised. Given a break and dropped into selling company last time (first-time blinkers) he showed a little more.

Mark continues to slide without looking as though that is the answer to him. Tried in a hood for his last four starts and that's retained here but he's nit well drawn and is only of minimal interest in this.

Well drawn for one who likes to go forward and although he has his ideas about the game he does have a 3/6 record over C&D and has won off much higher marks here. Ran over 7f last time and this will be a more suitable test if he's in the mood.

His best run this year came on his sole run for Chris Grant when he was second on the AW at Newcastle (6f). He's failed to build on that run for this yard though and raced far too freely over 7f last time out in first-time eyeshields.

Well placed next to the rails for a front-runner with his best recent run being in a race at Hamilton that he's won for the past two years (had the plum draw). He rarely holds his form for long though and remains one to be wary of overall.

A rather enigmatic mare who finally got off the mark over 6f at Ayr in July and looked to need every yard of that trip and this 5f trip could well prove on the sharp side for her. Unless they go a real gallop here she's likely to be outpaced and only running on at the death.

Remains with a sole win to his name from 45 attempts so hardly one to be breaking the bank over. Ran one of his better races last time (under today's rider) when more patiently ridden than usual over C&D last time out but not certain to do so again.

The least experienced in the field with this being just her fifth run and she did show some promise on her third maiden run at Doncaster over 6f under considerate handling. Showed nothing on her handicap debut though over C&D and jury out for now.

Yet to trouble the judge in 12 starts her maiden tag remains firmly intact despite the rapidly falling mark in handicaps. Tried over 1m1f last time (failed to settle) and now brought back to sprinting and can only be watched for now.

Verdict

A wide open sprint as they tend to be at Musselburgh and track position could play a good part in how this plays out although solid options are thin on the ground. SEE VERMONT is a regular here and although his mark is creeping up he comes alive here and looks the best of a moderate bunch. Windforpower is well drawn to get a prominent pitch that suits him well and he’s another that has a good record here and for all his quirks he respected. Twentysvnthlancers isn’t totally written off for a yard that are going well with their sprinters this year and he showed a glimpse of promise last time. If Knockamany Bends can retain his form he’s another well drawn to take advantage with Red Forever also given a chance on his run last time out.
