Ran twice on the Flat and finished seventh of 12 in a 2m handicap hurdle in the space of three days at the Galway festival. This is a much weaker contest and has conditions to suit.
Has been running on the Flat of late but two of his previous hurdle appearances have been promising, though, ground is a worry and now 11lb higher than last winning mark.
Winner of a Limerick maiden hurdle on heavy ground in March 2016 over 2m5f. Has struggled more recently and may be in need of the run on seasonal debut.
Put a 108L defeat behind him when winning a Ballinrobe handicap hurdle four days later over 2m on yielding to soft ground last month. Raised 5lb for the win but can still have a say in this.
Returned to hurdling last month finishing fourth of 10 in a Sligo handicap hurdle in second-time tongue-tie which brought about improvement at Wexford on his penultimate start. Headgear stays and has gone well on the ground in the past.
Won a 1m6f handicap here on Thursday. Last seen over hurdles in August when fourth of 20 at the Galway festival. Relishes the ground and one for the shortlist.
Course winner that has won over this trip. Beaten favourite last time out when pulled-up before three-out in a mistake filled handicap chase at Perth in June. Decent hurdle form, goes on the ground and has powerful trainer/jockey combination.
Pulled-up when dropping back through the field in the Kerry national on Wednesday. Winner of three of his 13 hurdle starts, the gelding has won in the ground and is back on winning hurdle mark.
Broke her maiden tag at the third time of asking when winning a Cork maiden hurdle over 2m on yielding ground last month. Interestingly given a mark of 112 on handicap debut.
Won on heavy ground in a Limerick maiden hurdle over 2m2f back in December 2015. Has struggled over hurdles since and may need the run here returning from a break. Others preferred.
Forecasts
Highland Fling (5/2), Rightdownthemiddle (4/1), Lakemilan (5/1), Kilcarry Bridge (6/1), Camlann (7/1), Getoutwhenyoucan (9/1), Charlie Stout (16/1), Crosshue Boy (16/1), Notwhatiam (16/1), Marygale Bridge (25/1)
Plenty of front-runners here with Camlann, Notwhatiam, Highland Fling and Kilcarry Bridge all known to have made the running in the past. Preference is for CAMLANN who should be fresh following his three runs in three days at the Galway festival and has conditions in his favour today. Kilcarry Bridge, pulled up in the Kerry National here on Wednesday and Getoutwhenyoucan can battle for the minor honours.
- Camlann
- Kilcarry Bridge
- Getoutwhenyoucan
